Foghorn,
How do you hook it up? This will be the first time I will be playing with my hydraulic lines. Do you have pictures?

I'm convinced that I want a 3pt splitter since I don't want to service another engine. WAY too many now.

I've got the TSC splitter and am very happy with it. For the money it's had to beat. To run it I purchased the "PowerBeyond" kit from Deere which allows you to tap into the hydraulic circuit that runs the three point to run things like a backhoe or the splitter. I would be surprised if 'bota didn't offer the same setup.

Very simply, no.

I explained your options in another thread.

Rick,

I don't tap into the tractor's hydraulic system at all. The logsplitter has its own hydraulic reservoir and pump. The pump slides onto the rear PTO shaft. It's takes the same amount of time to hook it up as any other rear PTO operated piece of equipment.

I probably won't have any pictures until next week...
