Attaching tow chain

I'm very new at this tractor stuff.

If I'm attaching a tow chain to drag a log out of the woods should I attach it to the tractor drawbar, or should a get a bar that attaches between the draft arms? Where's the strength?

Every thing I have read about my tractor says to pull from the drawbar only. There are several warnings in my operators manual about turning the tractor over if you pull from another point. But ---- there alot of sources here to get an attachment to move trailers from the 3pt.

The strongest thing to pull from is the drawbar. It is also the safest. If you use one of those 3ph hitch bars and pull from the side then all that load is acting to pull your 3ph to the side and your stabilizers are at risk of failure. That being said, pulling light stuff pretty straight I just chain off to my box blade.

I pull the log to where it needs to go, unhook the log and wind the chain around the boxblade and then back into the log with the back of the boxblade to shove it firmly into the stack. Then pull forward to get another.

I was going to explain my method of towing logs or rocks with my very small tractor however Slamfire has already questioned me on my procedure so I think I'll leave it lie.

The drawbar fastening to the tractor must be stronger than it appears.

A drawbar hook is already on my shopping list.
