ATV winch switch for 3rd function

i am putting together my build list for a third function circuit to control a grapple and while easy to buy a "kit" i want to put one together myself as well as save some money. has anyone used an ATV switch like this to control their 3rd function? in theory would something like this work?

It depends on which solenoid valve you use.

This valve is a diverter valve to switch the curl function from curl to grapple. FEL valve joystick will control the grapple or curl. Curl is default mode, no power to solenoid.

Surplus Center - 12 VDC 13.2 GPM SAE 8 DOUBLE SELECTOR VALVE

This solenoid valve will switch the valve to cause the fluid to go to the base end or the rod end, with full force, no feathering. Need a sub plate also.
