After looking high and low for a replacement point for a 12" auger I finally found what I thought to be a suitable fit. After returning home from TSC with the new unit, I was disappointed to find that the diameter of the non-business end of the point exceeds its receiver by about 1/8".
Three questions: 1. Would it be costly (or even possible) to take this to a machine shop and have it turned/shaved by 1/8"?
2. As seen in photo, the replacement point is longer than the original (although maybe not as I got the PHD used and the old point may have been equally as long as the new a while ago). Should I be concerned about the discrepancy in length?
3. Any alternative solutions?
Thanks in advance.
