I'm generally not the type to monkey with any safety features unless they're flat stupid (like the blades turning off on a riding mower when you back up), so I guess I'll just have to get used to it. I suppose I really wouldn't have really noticed for the most part except the light on the dash coming on. If it really bothers me, I can always disconnect the little lever that locks the two brakes together and just use one side or the other; depending on which way I'm turning.

If you really wanted to ability to turn it off with out permanently disabling it, why don't you locate the brake switch wires and install a toggle on the supply. Would not permanently disable anything that way, I have paralleled the safty seat switch like this on my little tractor. switch closed, no safty, switch open, works like normal.
