Re: Auto\'s

I could change my profile to include buying cars, but I think the misses has had enough for a while. As far as my old information, my weight's been on an upswing this spring/summer, but I'm still 34lbs less than I was this past winter. My driveway about rises about 50' vertically over a distance of 500'. This means I have a very tough finish for my bike rides (about 2/wk), but is the first year I have ridden up it everytime. The past couple of years I walked up the driveway about half the time. My heart rate is usually about 150 bpm & I'm out of breath, but that's exercise. On the otherhand, driving 30 miles in snowy weather only to get my car stuck at the base of the driveway while in work clothes is an entirely different story. I actually had three reasons for buying the truck: Taking the garbage to the dump, taking the tandem to weekend cycling rallies, and driving in snowy weather. The Audi was an afterthought that negated the last need for the truck. It has limited slips front & rear, along with stability control, so suspect the Audi will be a better snowmobile than the truck.

Re: Auto\'s

Currently we have a '93 Ford Explorer and a '92 Ford Ranger. Both are 4WD as we live in a pretty rural area (meaning snow removal isn't as prompt as it is in some areas). Always gotta remember though...4WD is to get me home...not to work! The primary vehicle has always been a relatively decent vehicle, but always prefered my trucks to be well used and abused...

Had quite a few sportscars over the years...Porsches (my favorite!), one E-Type Jaguar, Fiats (ever heard od a Fiat Dino?), Alfa Romeros...

I couldn't agree with you more, but that doesn't stop my wife. If it snows over night, I will see two sets of tires tracks when I start plowing with my tractor. I could tell how slippery the driveway is by how her tire tracks look. I guess it doesn't really matter, since she doesn't need 4WD to get down the driveway anyway.
