It would be interesting to see the total percentage of recalled vehicles vs vehicles sold in 2014. This year has appeared to be a bad year for recalls.

To me recalls aren't necessarily a bad thing. All products at some point will have issues, if my airbags or axle pinion nut have a problem lets recall them and get it fixed.

I have a problem with recalls because the issues they address should have been caught in the vehicle engineering and testing phase, not after it's been sold to the consumer.

You are going to be hard pressed to find a vehicle to buy without any recalls. I have no issue with recalls that are addressed in a quick and timely manner either. It's when a manufacturer hides and denies they have an issue when they clearly do. If it's designed by man it can and will break.

Same here. Look a well Toyota handled the frame issue on the Tacoma but then dropped the ball on the gas pedal issue. Makes no sense. Just make it right and all is good.
