Had a mighty rough time this past weekend. Loaded my 33D, 58" tiller, seed spreader and four wheeler on a trailer and hauled it 70 miles to Smithland, Ky to put out food plots on the farm I deer hunt on. Tilled up four good sized areas; seeded them down with a mixture of ladino clover, alfalfa, soybeans and grain sorghum.
Lost about two gallons of hydraulic fluid due to a loose hose clamp on a bypass line before I discovered the leak. Tractor wouldn't start one time; pto indicator light was on, even though the pto was disengaged. Traced that problem to a couple of wires underneath the tractor that had come apart at a connector. Good idea, putting the wires under the tractor, where weeds and brush won't get to them (not). Whimpy connectors too. I feel sort of like the fella with a TC25 in another recent post that a new, expensive, tractor shouldn't really have these sort of problems. Oh well, at least they were minor and easily corrected.
I hope the deer and turkey appreciate all the fun, uhm I mean work, I had putting out these plots. Was going to do a sunflower field for doves Sunday afternoon, but rain put a stop to that; guess I'll have to do that next weekend. The work never ends /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif.

I sympathize with you. It seems like those kind of things happen more when you're a long ways from the nearest dealer or on a holiday. I had the little wire pin that holds a pin on the fel control fall out 2 weeks after I bought my tractor and the fel wouldn't work. On Labor day weekend. It took a while to find that one.

2thdoc,

I planted a small crop of corn in my backyard for the deer. What kind of corn did you plant?

P.S. Finally got: "2th" doc. Maybe my slowness is due to my birth occurring along the banks of the Mighty Ohio.

Buck, I didn't plant any corn. Last year I put out two plots of turnips about the end of August; the deer absolutely loved eating the tops. Planning on doing it again this year. You ought to consider planting some for the deer.
