Hey Bo,
I like SRS's suggestion......move the containers to a friends house, then move them back. I can't see where the containers have anything to do with your house construction. If I wanted to keep them, I sure wouldn't let them keep me from having them. You were so correct when you said " I thought this was America " !!!!!!

Stack and weld them, or weld them into a big "T" for a deer blind/command and control tower. You will need it to see the incoming bureaucrats in the future. I guess it just depends on if you need the 80' height for viewing distance, or some roominess at 40' height. Decisions, decisions.

In Cochise county, AZ...30 feet above nominal grade is the max without a variance...wonder what kind of headache I'll face when I set up HAM antenna on my homestead?

HAM guy told me there is a federal law that allows up to 70' that pre-empts local laws for HAM operators. It was, of course, subject to height restrictions for airports, power lines, etc. I think it also had to be retractable. Anyway, don't take my word for it, but it shouldn't be too hard to look up. Another exemption is many areas is farm use.

I finished the larger section of railing yesterday. That's the most tedious job I've come across yet. And the last major hurdle before final inspection, which I plan on having Monday.
