The B7800 has something like that, but I personally have never used it. I have the first year model.

The extensible links will save your back. BUT, IMHO, you can go aftermarket and do it yourself. Someone even posted the exact part numbers on getting the B2910's links, so you could do the upgrade yourself.

I do plan on doing mine, one day, after I beat the heck out of what is on my B now....

It is a hard choice, but either way, your getting a great machine.

Good luck.

I just bought a B-7800 w/ R-4's with 60" MMM, FEL, rear chains, and 60" Befco box scraper for $17,650. I couldn't justify the extra $$$ for the 2910. It does have a lever cruise control, but it is slightly different from the 2910. It is a very nice machine if you don't mind not having all the bells and whistles. The seat on the 7800 is quite comfy and as far as the adjustable lower links, take your time backing up and get it straight. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks for the replies. Nice price Kubota Steve. I was quoted $16595 for the B7800 with FEL plus $6400 for Woods 7500 BH. I don't plan on changing implements often so the adjustable arms are secondary. And cruise is not an issue either. I have the official Kubota tractor pamphlet that says the B 2710/B2910 have a double frame but the B7800 is listed as only 22 pounds lighter. The same says the B7800 has a 3 cylinder engine but also says that the drive train, body ,tires and implements are the same as the B2910. Could be a vast right wing conspiracy to keep us guessing. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif But the B7800 seems like a good pick with pretty good respect among it's owners. Another test drive this week is in order.

My understanding is that the 2710/2910 also have a stronger frame than the 7800. If you look closely you can see the difference. My dealer said that the 7800 requires a $500 frame bracket to mount the backhoe that is not required on the 2710/2910. If true why do they downplay this feature. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Which backhoe are you refering to that requires an additional frame support to mount on a B7800?

As I have been shopping, dealers have said for the B7800 the Kubota backhoe and Bradco 3375 go on the 3 PT hitch, a Woods BH7500 would go on a frame.
I have been quoted prices for backhoes as follows:
Kubota BL4690B $6133
Bradco 3375 $5495
Woods BH7500 $6200

Kubota BL9640 backhoe, does this sound like a sales pitch? Maybe it is a misunderstanding he is very knowledgable. My dealer quoted esentially the same prices on the backhoes. I take delivery of my 2710 with LA402 loader, 60" MMM, filled R3's and backhoe Dec. 22, thanks Santa. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The engine in the 2710 appears that it may be the same block as the 2910/7800 with smaller bore (V1305E vs. V1505E?). Kubata Engine USA Can anyone confirm this. I noticed on a TBN link to Kubota engine that the 27 HP seems to be rated for higher RPM. At higher RPM it has higher horsepower. May be better suited for longevity and rebuild.

My quote was $6390 for the Woods 7500. The Kubota BH used the three point arms. The Woods seems much stronger. I'm expecting an orange one in the yard next week!!!!!!

It was a big help reading the posts on here. Thanks!

I've got around 40 hours on my B7800, and am very satisfied. I looked at both, but could not justify the extra $$$ for the 2910. I was unaware that the 2910 offered complete control of the 3ph as ronjhall reported in an earlier post, if this is indeed correct, I would probably go with the 2910 if I had it to do over again. Anyone accustomed to a 'regular' 3hp will likely be very frustrated with the comparatively crude setup on the B7800.
