Re: B-7500 Won\'t crank. HELP

Sounds like the PTO switch is just out of position. Try to engage the PTO and the put it back into neutral.
Make sure the clutch is full depressed (mass it).
Look under the tractor for a stick or something in the clutch linkage.

( Yes it is in neutral, it is as if the stop button is not pushed in. ) If it acts like the stop is out then the engine will crank ?????????? If nothing happens then you have a saftey problem or other failed part.

Re: B-7500 Won\'t crank. HELP

Any chance of ice or snow buildup during the last time out? Would have kept running then once it was shut down, prevented a safety switch from working properly. I would think the seat also has a switch, any snow build up under there? Stranger things have happened. They could also short out due to melting snow getting inside. Try wiggling them all, hopefully a piece of snow will clear.

Good luck - Brad

Re: B-7500 Won\'t crank. HELP

Maybe you've already done it, but if it were me, I'd hold the key in the "start" position, then, while still holding it there, wiggle the gear range selector lever, then wiggle the PTO lever to see if the starter would engage. It's sometimes possible for the adjustment of one of those safety switches or levers to be off so slightly that you won't notice it otherwise.

TBNer's, PROBLEM SOLVED /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Found my problem, saftey switches were OK battery was good starter was good. Turns out the HST pedal has a piston rod on the underneath side of the tractor it had some debris that kept it from moving freely, in short it was as if you were to try to start the tractor with the HST pedal depressed. Hope this helps others in the future.

Re: B-7500 Won\'t crank. HELP

Glad your problem was simple..... Frustrating but simple. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I had a similar thing happen with mine, only I was moving and when I let up on the pedal I just kept going staight toward a tree. Quick reflexes and hit the clutch, shut it down and found a branch that had lodged in the linkage. Somewhat of a "religious" experience.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: B-7500 Won\'t crank. HELP

O.K. I had almost the same situation with mine today and I had to leave it on the jobsite. I had some barb wire around my rear wheel and decided to cut the tractor off and remove the wire and when I tried to restart the tractor the engine would'nt even turn over. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I thought the wire might have something to do with it but so far I have found nothing wrong. The lights work bright so it's not the battery. Where are the safety switches and I will check them? Another thing,if the PTO is enguaged before you start the tractor can you still start the tractor?

Re: B-7500 Won\'t crank. HELP

Don,
You can put the PTO in neutral before starting. I do that all the time. Just be sure to depress the clutch when you do it. These B7500's are pretty bullet proof, so it's probably something simple..... although that's kind of a stretch to use the word "simple" when it is keeping a tractor from starting.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif This thread has just about everything that I can think of checking. Good luck.

Greg
