So, a little research seems to put the Tier IV questions, and which B20 Series are going away.

I have found through Kubota's Engine Data that the D1005 engine in the B2320, AND the D1105 engine in the B2620 already are Tier IV compliant... NOT Iterim Tier IV, but the final judgement, Tier IV. No further tweaks are required for these two engines to neet the 2017 Tier IV emissions standard from what I have read.

The D1305 engine used in the B2920, however, only meets Interim Tier IV, which I suspect requires mire than fuel muxture adjustments to meet Tier IV, thus the reason it is going away.

Whether the B2920 comes back with a new D1305 E4 engine remains to be seen, but I cant imagine consumers being forced into the much pricier B50 Series by the B20 Series being dumped completely when the two D1005 and D1105 engines already meet the bar standard.

I dont think the B2320 or the B2620 are going anywhere soon, and from what I am hearing from the local dealers, I think it may be a likely.

Engines less than 25 HP have met Tier 4 final since 2008. Tier 4 final is lax in grams/KW-hr compared to the larger engines - about ten times as much PM allowed which means at the limit the small engine is producing the same amount of soot as a 250 HP lengine. But the standards are set around what can be done and if they met the spec, what would be the overall effect.

Over the years I've been involved in the Tier wars i.e. Installing the largest engine in a machine without going to the next Tier to delay the cost of the emissions increase only to be crossed up by some competitors who said the machines already sucked at the low power - bite the bullet, meet the new emissions standard and bump up engine power by 20% so it will perform like the customers expect. Result - we ended up with a lower cost machine that lost percent of industry sales because performance sucked. Being a manufacturer is being a huge gambler.
