I hope this is not too late.
Have you considered the bar-turf tires? They are wider than turfs, yet have bar treads on them for additional traction. I would expect them to have better traction than R-4s, yet not as much as R-1s. The downside is that they are of slightly smaller diameter and thus you lose a little ground clearance on your 3pt attachments and mid-mower ( if applicable).
I have them on my 7500, which I use to cut 2 acres of finished lawn and the tires aren't a problem with regard to scuffing.
