B2630 or B7800?

I love my B7800 too! I spent the day yesterday pulling wood out of my forest with my bucket grapple and sling choker. The B7800 is very well suited for all kinds of work because of it's wide stance, wheel base and ground chearance. I am not sure how much better a heavier tractor would be but most of the time I am happy it's not heavier since my land is hilly and rocky with wet soil so any additional weight would just bog me down.

Right before you get it, you'll probably get a nice 12" snow!!!!
Good choice on machine.

Thanks for jinxing me, man. :p Lots and Lots of pre-tractor snow.

The L3240 comes Wednesday morning, should be a nice Christmas present.

Not to throw the topic off track, but I hear alot about tractor horse power and nothing about torque. Seems to me, the reason we all run diesels is because of the increased torque over gasoline. So, if that increased torque is so important, maybe someone can point me in the right direction here?

If my math is correct, 30 hp is 13% greater than 26 hp, but I would guess that in terms of actual tractor performance the difference would be less. Bear with me now, I am just a dumb carpenter, not a mechanic or engineer, but it seems to me that since the 3 cylinder would have 14% larger cylinders than the 4 cylinder (26 hp divided by 3 cyl = 8.7, 30 hp divided by 4 cyl = 7.5, 7.5 divided by 8.7 = 86%), that the larger cylinder size would somehow be translated into increased torque output.

Does any of that make any sense? You can all laugh and call me a goof, but I was just sitting here thinking......
The 2630 engine is 3 cylinders. Each is 22.8 CI. B7800/B3030 engine is 4 cylinders 22.8 CI each.
I have a B2910. It is the previous model to the B3030.
The times where you will wish you had the extra HP is rotary cutting. My 5' rotary cutter uses every bit of the PTO HP in heavy grass. Most all cutting is done in low range. It takes over 1 hour to rotary cut each acre on my property. Finish mowing will not take as much HP.
IMHO get the extra HP and premium features. Every time you use the tractor you will thank yourself for doing it.

Sorry, that is the way it goes when getting a new machine. I can see you now out next week trying to plow snow flurries:D before they melt!!!!!
I always find new projects to work on with my 7800. This past Sat., I went out and was digging out the pit more that I use for my target range. I'm down just at 6 foot deep and about 8 to 10 feet wide which is not too bad for only using a box blade and FEL.
