Buying Advice B2650 vs JD 3033r

   / B2650 vs JD 3033r #11
Well, I had a 3940 with loaded industrial tires. Sold it when I stopped hunting. It was used to supplement a 85 hp tractor that did the grunt ground engagement work. I bought a 2650 a few years later with unloaded turf tires. Both are open station. The 3940 was a substantially heavier tractor with the loaded tires. If the ground was at all moist, it would leave tracks. The 2650 with mmm doesn't cause any issues in the yard but it will tear the grass with the front tires if I cut the wheel sharply. However, it is pretty big for mowing the lawn. I also have a bx2200 that I was going to sell but I decided to keep it as it is so much more agile around trees and landscaping so the bx does the mowing and the 2650 everything else. I would categorize the b2650 as an estate tractor. It's great for mowing small fields, lifting things, maintaining a large garden, and other gentlemanly things. It too light in my opinion without loading the tires and I will load mine after we move in about a year. I wouldn't think about lifting anything over 250# w/o ballast. I don't have a gravel drive right now, but I plan to use the 2650 with tnt and some combination of box blade, landplane, and blade when we move and have a 1000 ft gravel drive.

I think it's a great choice you won't regret. Still loving mine especially with a six foot blower out the back for the white stuff.
