Girtski,

If you are still not satisfied with the fix, I think I would reply to the Kubota rep and tell them you are dissatisfied with the results, and you would like a new valve replacement.

You could also tell the that every Kubota rep in the country will get a copy of your message if nothing is done.

Just explain the situation fully, and include pictures, and tell them you will not accept it as is. Might work, just keep on them until something good happens.

If you can not fix it to your satisfaction, I would get a new joystick valve and use it until Kubota comes back with a final answer.

You don't want to scratch that bore or spool to much. Don't know which is harder.

I think I'll hold off on the purchase of a new valve until I get their "final answer" on my request for a replacement. I won't go down easy!

Thanks everyone for your support thus far. I will keep you posted.

It's not looking too good. The Kubota Service Manager called last evening to advise me that he would do nothing since the unit is 12 years old and I'm the second owner. Nevermind that the part was defective from day one. Not sure what I will do next since I now have a valve that is drilled in the wrong place at the direction of the same service manager to my local dealer.

Any suggestions other than buying a new valve?

I'd say it's time to buy a new valve and move on. This whole drilling thing seems miss guided. It's just real hard to believe that you and others have owned and operated this machine for 12 years and that it's been working acceptably without one of the 4 loader ports. I'm guessing there is something else going on somewhere.

How long have you owned it, versus the previous owner? Has this been going on for months, or years?

I've owned it 10 years. The previous owner NEVER USED IT...He mounted it for the first time on the tractor the day I picked it up. The paint wasn't even scratched on the bucket nor removed from the zerks. As I stated, I often move material around my lot but the fact that it lifted consistently to a height of about 3 feet allowed me to perform everything I needed to do, hence it wasn't a big deal until recently when it would only go up about 10 inches. I don't disagree that it's long overdue...my fault for not getting on this the day I brought it home. I don't doubt there may be something else going on, but for Kubota to tell my dealer to "just drill a hole in the port" is reckless at best. New valve priced today at almost 900.00.

For me there is a fine line between properly and acceptably... If I had needed full height lift for anything, I would have gone after this much sooner. It's all about priorities.

Service intervals have always been on time or ahead of time and I've always used Kubota filters and Super UDT...This time Super UDT2. I spent one good week a few years ago removing cylinders and having them independently tested. I rebuilt the valve detents twice hoping that something might be blocking something I couldn't see. I never removed the QD's until last week when I started a deep dive on this and read where many folks have had issues with worn, broken or not fully engaged QD's. Imagine my amazement at pulling the QD and seeing no hole!

Girtski,

I would recommend that you bite the bullet and purchase a $200 valve with PB and install it and use it to the limits of the valve. You can still pursue the other valves demise or non-functional use. It is amazing how it got through inspection, and proof of suitability.

I am not trying to spend your money, but instead trying to get you to purchase something that you can use right now.

Do like I said and send the pictures to all the Kubota people and web sites that have tractors involved.

The Kubota rep should have looked at the valve and replaced it, at no cost. It is Kubota's fault if they installed the loader. If it was owner installed, I would think nothing could be done. There might be a time limit on a claim like that.

If that were my tractor, I believe I would have found the problem at the git go.

Sort of like buying a car. Even in the summer, check out the heater, and in the winter, check out the AC.

On a tractor, that would be the loader, 3pt, brakes, steering, filters, reservoir, etc.

You might even try small claims court, using the pictures, and outlining the complete operation of the loader hyd operation, maybe even showing the judge videos of normal operation, and your loader operation. Judges and arbitrators like pictures and documentation presented in a cool and calm atmosphere.

What is a 200 valve with PB...Power beyond? Where might I find such an animal? Surely better than the roughly 900 for a replacement from Kubota dealer.
On the surface it sounds like a viable alternative whilst I pursue the small claims action. If I were a hydraulics "guy" I probably would have checked it out more completely at the beginning. Due to my lack of diligence in the matter, I allowed it to lay until the most recent failure.

Do you have any suggestions on websites etc for "Kubota People" and tractors. I didn't find this one until I had to do the deep dive.
I would like to share my experience, even if it helps at least one other person get resolution inside of a perceived warranty period.
