Ok, this is probably a really stupid question, but I've noticed while using my brushhog that at times the valve that controls how fast the 3pt "drops" will go to the "Closed" position and I then have to open it prior to being able to lower my brushhog. It always seems to happen when I'm working in some tougher brush and raising/lowering the brushhog. Is there some way to "lock" this valve into a position, or is this some form of safety feature? I have 230 hours on my b2910 and have not noticed that happening...
Only have a couple hours brush hogging though. But from what I can see, the position of that knob does not change with use or vibration on my tractor. Not that there is much vibration... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I don't think what your are seeing should happen normally. That knob on my tractor turns freely, but there is a little resistance, and it is not loose by any means. Not tight either, just firm enough to hold itself in place I guess...

Thanks, I was guessing that there was a "lock" of some sort. Mine's not very hard to turn by hand. I'll have the dealer look at it when they mount the FEL next week.

I have 223 hours on my 2910 and it has done that since day one.Mine will even do it when Im mowing with the billy mower after a while.If I have to brush hog for 2 or 3 hours or longer,I may have to turn that knob 3 or 4 times,becuase it will get to where it wont let the three point go down.My knob turns pretty easy also.

My new 2910's valve has been acting up from hour one. I have had the same problem you described, with a Gannon box blade hanging on it. In addition, I have had it refuse to lock. In addition, I cannot reduce the lowering speed to the point where the implement descends slowly. As I keep turning the valve clockwise (I never do hit "lock"), the lowering turns into a series of jerks, each way too fast, as I move the position control down. Dealer is looking at it now, but I know he will try to tell me that the implement is too heavy. Have you heard back from your dealer?

I haven't done anything with mine yet as it always works after I open the valve up. I do have the factory service manuals now though so I'll probably take a look at it some Saturday when the in-laws are in town! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
