I have finally found two uses for this contraption.

For those of you reading this post by mistake, the 2910 has a cruise control lever next to the seat. It is really more than a cruise control. It is connected to the hydro pedal and is a manual hyro control that will stay in whatever hydro position you set. Never used it for anything except to play with brake steering.

This weekend I drove my tractor 5 miles home from the dealer after a repair to my mower deck. (I think a $75 each way pick up charge is outrageous.) While riding on the road it was very convenient to set the cruise lever instead of constantly riding the hydro pedal. The drive was quite pleasant. I have now transmogrified into the old guy blocking traffic with a tractor. Good.

The other use of the cruise lever allows me to kickback when mowing. Now, I am one who always has his feet up on my desk or table. Genetic maybe. I even drive sometimes on the highway with my left foot on the dash in vehicles that have enough space to allow it.

I have found that it is very convenient to put both my feet up against the loader crossbar that goes across the hood behind the dash. (JD's and NH's dont have this convenient footrest, obviously an objective failure on their parts.) I do this frequently when my tractor is parked by my stream and I am just enjoying nature with my dogs.

Last week, it dawned on me that I could drive in this recumbent position by using the hand throttle. Oh joy! It even provides a foot massage.

Another aspect of the cruise lever is that if you lean against it with your hip and push it to the right, it will jam the reverse pedal making it very difficult to go in reverse. I couldnt understand why I sometimes could not go in reverse until someone on another thread pointed out the cruise lever as the culprit. It is.

Very interesting glennmac! I never did like the location of the cruise lever on my B2910 and since I have too many corners while mowing, I thought about just taking the darn thing off. BUT, using it for a hand throttle has some potential and the foot massage sounds great! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif.

I did some major trail balzing last week throught 20' maple sapplings with by field mower. One casualty was part of the cruze control linkage which vanashed somewher in the outback. I could think of no reason to replace the missing link until now.

I've used and abused my cruise control in most of the ways you have. I will have to give the Foot Massage a try though./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
