Just got delivery of my new B-2910 with 72" MMM.....$15.800. cash. I don't know much about cost of other attachments you mention.....I have had a B-8200 HST with 60"MMM for 19 years, and it still runs and cuts as good as new! Did you talk to more than one dealer....Does the dealer have a good service dept.?

4 - If purchacing a new backhoe, I would never get a 3pt mount. The cost difference is about $500 to use a subframe, without it you run a serious risk of splitting the tractor in half.

At the risk of sounding like a smart apple, I would suggest you consult with Kubota. Perhaps you could get them to change thier design for their benefit?

I am not sure if what you are saying is rural legend or indeed fact, but it is hard for me to believe that Kubota engineers would design and sell a product like a 3 PH backhoe, to attach to their tractors. if such damage were likely to occur.

That being said, I know a few cases of 3PH backhoe tractors being damaged have been reported. But I don't know the WHY of the damage. Abuse, improper installation or just bad design? Aftermarket 3PH backhoes? I don't have a clue...

Kubota does not sell a 3pt backhoe. They have a quasi subframe design. It still kinda of hangs off the 3pt. but they add metal plates to the stress points under the tractor. That way they avoid all the mower linkage problems. Its not a bad design at all and we do sell it in ground clearance situations, however for the most part the woods is a better choice.

I am working on putting together a webpage that shows the different styles of mounting that Kubota, Woods, and Bradco use. This seems to be a pretty common confusion. I'm just waiting for us to sell a Kubota so I have one to take pictures of.

Pickup! I glad things are starting to slow down just a bit. Two weeks ago I hardly had time to think.

My article is waiting on us selling a Kubota hoe, woods stuff goes though here all the time.

Just got in from Qubec today, just in time to make the delivery. It looked good enough just to leave a guy temporarily paralyzed! Had a chance to do a little fooling around on it today. Dropped the hoe off temporarily just to take the pins out of the mower so I could lower and remove it. (What a pain!) You can drive over the 72" mower, which is a nice feature. it does like to try moving along, without blocks under the wheels.... I just used the bucket to lift the front wheels part way up and over, and it worked nicely. Thought before I used the mower for the first time, I would scuff up the underside and brush on a nice coat of slip plate. I think the dealer forgot to attach whatever goes under the seat to press the second safety switch when it is raised. Going to have to find something to put on the seat while I try out the hoe tomorrow morning. (I think they should drive down and fix it for me tomorrow)
Anyway, I'm going to spend my free moments this weekend working/playing.
Upgraded to 72"mmm, price ended up being 24.5k from a dealer in Meadville, PA.

Appreciate all the comments!

Congrat's on the Tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The seat switch must be something new.

My B2910 does not have a seat switch.

When installing or removing my MMM, I raise the front wheels as high as they will raise with the FEL.

Makes the installation very easy.

This is an interesting statement and it made complete sense to me when I read it, especially because I think I saw in my operator's manual (backhoe or tractor manual for my B2910) that a "subframe" was required when a backhoe is used on the B2910.

When I was putting my backhoe on yesterday, I got to thinking...dangerous I know! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The only points my BL4690A backhoe attaches to are the top link bracket and the lift arms. 3 points. Those "longer brackets" that are used to make the tractor stronger mount to the tractor and never touch the backhoe.

I can't help but conclude now, after thinking about it, that the Kubota backhoe is truly a 3PH backhoe, since the backhoe attaches to the 3PH at the exact same points as every other 3PH implement does...although it does not use the ajustable top link, and has its own solid piece instead.

I don't think my logic is flawed... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Am I not seeing this right?

Sounds like a nice setup, I also bought from the Meadville dealer last fall.
