Wow Sully2, How tall are you? I must admit that, for me: 5'10", it's a P.I.T.A. to fill the tank: 60"MMM with LA403 loader mounted on. I've never tried to fill the tank without loader/MMM. But even then, even if the loader is off, there's still the vertical post of the loader. Anyways, I think the best way to do it is with a small electric fuel pump. I saw a nice one on Northern tool who called me daddy.

Well..that depends..? If you go by my weight..on the doctors chart it says I should stand 7 foot 11 inches!!....

Im 5'10...but I dont have any mower deck on mine..Im right next to the tractor when I lift that 5 gallon can up..and put the nozzle in the tank.

I'll be going to some sort of pump come fall...and keep my yellow fuel cans as backups. Ive got a new "plastic"..55 gallon drum here and will get it filled when the fuel oil man comes in late september. I'll probably use some sort of "hand" ( manual) pump on mine.

I think my pump ran around $300. from northern, you can buy a hand pump there for short money.

Owner's Manual states 4.2 quarts capacity - now is that with or without a new filter? I'm guessing 5 quarts with a new (empty) filter.

I bought an 11$ rotary hand pump from HF and it is very nice. I use it to fill my 5 gallon cans from the 55 gallon drum. I then fill the tractor in the field by standing on the front tire.
