Well I have a few hours on the B3030 and one thing I noticed about this machine is there seems to be some vibration in the wheel and in the HST pedal. It doesn't seem to straighten out like the 3 cylinders do when you rev them up. It does some but not like you think it should. I noticed also when you put the loader on the ground it will cause the FEL pins to rattle.
Is this the nature of the Kubota 4 cylinder engines?
Just wondered if you guys with B7800's and B2910's notice this vibration or is it just the B3030's???
I put a call into my dealer about it...He said he would look into it for me.

I have the same problem with my B3030. I feel it in the steering and the HST pedal. The vibration causes annoying rattles where are the ROPS pins (each sides), BH75 seat bolts, FEL joystick and FEL stands (and spring pins). So far, I fixed the ROPS rattle with spring washers and backhoe seat by adding washers and tightening the bolts. Next week I'll fix the one about the FEL stand but so far I don't know how I can fix the one about the FEL joystick.

I don't understand. Usually the engine is supposed to be bolted on the main frame with rubber pads to eliminate a great deal of vibrations. I feel like I'm seated on my laundry washer when it's spinning. I have to talk to my dealer about that.

My 5 year old B2910, has vibrations that will make the ROP's and FEL rattle.
I have not noticed any annoying vibrations in the steering wheel or HST pedal.

I've only got 5 hrs on my B3030 but I haven't noticed any rattles in the steering wheel or HST pedal. I noticed the steering wheel adjustment pedal in the floor would rattle a bit at low idle sometimes.

The ROPS pins will rattle if I don't tighten them all the way in.

Its not so bad I can't use it. But it just seems to have more vibration than the ones I am used to. It runs fine and everything and the backhoe is great!
It doesn't rattle everything all the time.....But if you run it just under 2000 rpm or so and put the Loader down the little keepers in the FEL pins rattle around and if adjust the speed it seems to go away some. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I noticed that vibration also when I was comparing it to my L2800 and I wasn't fond of it. It is like a buzz feeling in the steering wheel.

My B3030 w/FEL has 10 hours now, and I also have had the same "vibration" since about 3 hours old. Also feeling it through the steering wheel and floor boards. I've been talking back and forth w/ dealer and he owes me a response from Kubota in Ohio. Talked to Kubota corporate in California and they have no reports or TSB on the issue. I'm guessing as more B3030 owners chime in w/ feedback we can compare notes- this may be the operational characteristics of this new model. I for one would expect a quality "feel" for a +$17K machine.

So I finally got some feedback from my dealer today after he confered w/ Kubota on the B3030 vibration- they think it may be the calibration of the injector unit that is effecting the smoothness of the engine, a.k.a. vibration. They will be picking up the tractor tomorrow for futher diagnositcs. We shall see........

Good to know you got somewhere on this.
I will have to let my dealer know this as my B3030 is at the dealer as I type this. It sprung a few small leaks on the backhoe and they forgot to put the main pin assembly for the 3 point in the tractor before mounting the subframe for the backhoe. You cannot slide this pin in after the Backhoe frame is mounted. I also found a missing bolt they left out on the ROPS assembly next to the Rear PTO and they also cross threaded a bolt that was real obvious as it was sideways in its mounting hole and not even tightened down.
This is usually a pretty good dealer I dunno what happened this time around. Needless to say I am not real thrilled right now. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I hope you get your 3030 rattle fixed. I had an AGCO ST35 and to keep the pins from rattling they had an O-ring near the head of each pin and the hole in each pin was placed right up against the mating part so the retainer pin would fit snuggly and not rattle.

Any news on this yet? My dealer service guy claims he called everyone he could but no one knew anything about a vibration or even a fix of any sort. All he told me was that he would just have to wait to see if Kubota had any sort of a bulletin about the issue. But as of now he couldn't find a thing.

Dealer picked up the B3030 this morning- I'll give him a jingle tomorrow and see what he found. It was a little weird opening up the garage after work today and NOT seeing my new toy. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Let me know what they find out........My service guy at least agrees that it seems to vibrate more than some but is kinda stuck as what to do about it after calling Kubota and they say there is no known problem at this time.
I really don't feel its a serious problem as it runs ok and performs ok....It just seems to kinda buzz through the wheel and the HST pedal which is annoying at times. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

JBota,

How many hours do you have on it? I'm just under 5hrs. I could be wrong but does yours seem to be "smoother" as time goes on? I noticed I can take hills in high now where as before I had to drop into medium gear. This being my first real tractor, I don't know if this is just the normal break in. It's hard to tell if things are getting better or I'm just having too much fun. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

As far as the rattle goes: my steering tilt lever in the floor still vibrates a little at low idle. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'm hoping it just goes away but I'll bring it up with my dealer non the less.

I have a 5 year old B2910 and it doesn't rattle...

I can say the Kubota engines are very tight when new and
they smooth out after some hours of use...

Regards,
Chris

It has about 6.5 hours on it now. I hope it does straighten up some....Because I really love this tractor otherwise. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Following up with the dealer today, the regional Kubota Sales Rep stopped in yesterday and witnessed the vibration on my B3030 first hand while in the shop. He commented they had a similar issue with the B2910 when it first came out and had put a fix in place. He didn't get into any details other than it was NOT the engine that was the potential source of vibration. The Kubota Rep worked in service for ten years prior and knows the right "goto" people to get an answer from. He did say there was no reason not to continue to use the tractor until they come up with a response for a fix and would return the tractor today. Good thing as I do have work to do! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

At the end of the conversation, the dealer shared a problem that came up while my tractor was in the shop; some how they ended up welding hooks on my FEL bucket that should have been for another customer! He appologized and said the hooks would be for free. That's my kind of problem! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Free hooks! You can't beat that....
I have been using mine the way it is and I think I am getting used to it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I think the good thing about Kubota is that when there is a problem they seem to get it fixed.
Let me know if they get back to you with a fix. I will send you a PM with my email address.

P.S. It says your not excepting private messages so I will just post it here. dzlpwrd@adelphia.net
