I am using about 1 gallon per hour of operation with my B3030 pulling a 5 ft cutter (about 550 lb). Does this seem about right?

I would not complain
I was wondering what my B2910 was consuming. It stands to reason that
the higher the rpm's the more fuel you consume. The only time I go near
2600 rpms is when I have the tiller on. The rest of the time about 2200.

I used to own a B7200 never figured out what the fuel consumption was
but a 5 gallon can of diesel would last forever.

That really sounds like allot of fuel consumption.

I normally get 2+ hours per gallon on either our L-3130 or L-39, but they are both three cylinders..

Yeah, that's what I was thinking ..... I think our B2910 uses around 0.6 gallons per hour ... and it is a 4 cylinder.

Best I can figure I use also about one gallon per hour on the M7040 mowing with a 15 ft woods mower. Some areas go uphill where i have to go to full throttle to maintain PTO speed. Generally mowe in fourth gear at 2200 rpm at a speed of 4.5 miles per hour

I got .66 gallons per hour last time I checked, but that was a mixture of mowing and FEL work, the best RPM for me when mowing is 2100-2200 rpm a little below the 540 Pto mark (2400), I can see getting 1 gallon per hour with heavy tall grass and brush mowing.

My 3030 burns about .5 gals per hour brush cutting @ pto speed, Pulling a 1000 lb. core aerator she burns 1 gal per hour. I have not done the sea trials on our 2782 front snowblower yet, Im sure she will burn 1 -2 gals per hour with the throttle up and the mid pto engaged.

I have a 30 hp Kioti with a 60" rotary cutter and since the paint colors are nearly the same I think it at least compares.

I also burn just about a gallon per hour at PTO speed while mowing. Silly little 8 gallon fuel tank needs to be refilled during the work day.

I have a B7800 with about 30 hours of use and I am using about 5 gallons every 8 hours. I use it mainly for mowing so it is set to PTO RPM most of the time.

the rule with a diesel is more load = more fuel, once you get above about 3/4 rpm you fuel usage will also increase dramatically, bit hard to keep rpm down when driving a pto implement, because all of them usually should be run at 40rpm, which on most smaller tractors is near enough to WOT. 1 gal an hour is up there, but not what i would call extreme, just gettin towards that end of the scale.

On my B-7800, I use just about a tankful (I think it is 7 gallons or so) in 8 hours of mowing with a 60" MMM running at 2200 to 2300 rpms. Also I did notice when I was using the rotary cutter, it seemed to use more fuel than mowing with MMM. With my old B-7200 which was a gear tractor and around 17 engine HP I would mow for about 8 hours on 4.5 gallons of fuel with 60" MMM as a comparison.
