That is a great idea! I have done that with my B 2320 many times.(Too many!!)

I can imagine myself driving around with the brakes AND the red light on, then I'd have to kick myself with both feet instead of just one. If I could train myself to look at the light, I could train myself to remember the brakes. I think I'd hook up a small hammer to a hydraulic cylinder that would clunk me on the head if I tried to move with the brakes on.

You make a good point :p. I just finished the mod today so I have yet to find out if I notice the light. Hopefully being as close to my line of sight as possible will help and I do check my gauges more often than my brakes .

Just about every car or truck I have ever driven has a brake light. You get used to seeing it, and so don't think about it when you are on a tractor and it does not have a "idiot light" I don't spend nearly as much time on my tractor as I do in my car, truck, or work truck. I think it is a great idea. Maybe the only thing that I would change is to label the light "brake" so you would always be reminded as to what it is...

Just a thought here: When you look at the two lights only one is always lit and they switch instantly each time the brake pedal is depressed or released. Green is for "good" and red means something is wrong. I really don't see how anyone would actually need a "BRAKE" label considering the owner needs to install his own warning lights. Just sayin' is all.

The best “Brake On” warning system I have ever seen was one a retired Electrical Engineer had on his tractor. If the brakes were on and either of the hydro pedals was depressed a horn would blow. A very good attention getter, lift the foot from the hydro pedal, the horn stopped, or release the brake and the horn stopped.

That is a brilliant idea since, although rarely now, I still on occasion drive off with the brakes on. On level ground with the hydrostatic transmission there is little difference in motion with the brakes on or off and there is only a slight difference in the pitch of the engine and driveline noise which only sometimes catches my ear. Fortunately I have already installed a horn so the wiring will be dead simple once I figure out how to mount another switch to the hydrostatic pedal. Thanks for the tip Gator .

I plan to add the horn warning in addition to the lights but it may be a while so anyone wanting to do it now should place the go pedal switch in series between the brake pedal switch red light ON wire and the horn circuit. Here is where it gets tricky and in my situation will require a horn relay which I don't need at present. My horn is 12V switched with a constant ground where as my brake warning lights are key ON hot at all times with ground switching. Thus I need to change the ground switching signal from the brake pedal and continued by the hydro pedal to the relay into a 12V switching signal for the horn. One alternative would be to rewire the horn so that is is ground switched with a constant 12V feed on the other terminal and eliminate the need for a relay. I will have to test my light switch/horn button assembly to see if it's circuit is isolated from the rest of the lighting circuits :confused2:. BTW the horn/light switch visible in the previous attachment is a Kubota part for another B series model which I think was the TLB model.

Garc, how 'bout adding a totally separate horn just for the brake ?

Or better yet, a small buzzer from Ratshack.

I like the buzzer idea :) 'tho I'm also thinking the horn would provide shock therapy to break a bad habit :D.
