Late last winter I had a main hydrolic line under the cab, of my 2.5 year old unit with 200, hours, spring a big leak and drain all the fluid, very expensive to fix due to the cab, which was just out of warranty :(. Today I got another hydrolic leak:mad:. This time the silver line on the left side, facing the tractor, that connects to the black line that is in front of the radiator sprung a massive leak and blew fluid all over the tractor and poured all over the driveway. The clip that appears to hold these two togeather appears to be very poor engineering. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so is there a seal that needs replaced. Does the black line lift up off the silver line and replace he seal and then the cheap clip, or do I need to have it towed away again to be repaired. :confused2:

Only 2.5 years old, how long does Kubota warrenty these things?
I'd be pissed.

Pissed doesn't begin to explain it. I used to have a New Holland and was very happy with it. I sold my New Holland and bought this B3030HSDC because I wanted a cab, the New Holland cab units were too big for mowing (not to mention very expensive), and this 3030 seemed to fit the bill. I've babied the B3030, unlike the New Holland that I used harder, and have had nothing but problems with the B3030.

Attached are four pictures. A distance shot to get a reference for location, above, below, and straight on.

You can see the .25 cent clip holding a $30,000 tractor's hydrolics togeather, of course Im sure the 25 cent clip would cost $25 from the dealer.

Looks like a line going to a cooler? Is the line itself leaking, or just an O ring ? I should think this is something you could fix yourself. If I have time before the family function I have to attend, I'll go look at mine and see if I can figure out where the leak is.

I looked while it was spraying profusely, i mean it is all over everything. But it seemed like it was coming from the union of the two parts. I removed the clip and tried to gently pick up the top part to see if there was a seal issue, but was afraid to hurt it any further, like bending something.

Looking at my parts breakdown that line is going to the HST cooler.

There is an o-ring in there (04816-00120) which lists for $1.32...... you might want to call your dealer and check on availability of the o-ring.

The spring clip is part number (6A710-39660) and is listed for $5.00.

If it was me I would go ahead and replace both parts.

Thanks Stu, I'll get the parts and give it a go. Not much to loose there if it doesn't work. I appreciate your help.

I took a look at mine but Stu was way ahead of me. Was that the line your dealer replaced ? If so, they probably should have replaced that O ring when they did the line. Thankfully, the parts are cheap. Take a look on the other end of the cooler...... as I would do both O rings if the cooler has to come out. Sorry to hear about your problems with it..... my 3030 has been dead reliable with close to 400 hrs. on it.

No, the last line was under the cab,and they had to remove the cab to get at it. Thank you for assisting.

My previous New Holland was rock solid. My B3030 has been frought with issues since the day I got it, I was able to lift the front end of my New Holland effortlessly, TC21D, with the FEL, which got me out of many a mess when I would get it stuck, the Kubota struggles to lift the front, my neighbor who is a JD guy came down to help me get unstuck and couldn't believe the FEL wouldn't get me out. The A/C has been an ongoing issue and to have a leak at under 200 hrs is just grief, the broken fluid line in February when the cab had to come off, and now the blown O ring at the connection joint. I've only had it for 2 1/2 years and 200 hours. I don't do anything heavy with it, Mow and plow snow, oh yea, ruin grass each time the fluid lines blow.

Fixed it. The clip had vibrated half off, thereby breaking the seal. I found this when I pulled the clip and separated the tubes, the seal is fine, so I reconnected the tubes, pushed the clip the whole way on, started it up,and it seems to be holding, however, thats tounge in cheek because I have to put some hydrolic fluid in it, since it all ran out, to see if it leaks.

Way to go! Glad you were able to fix it!

Hopefully things will get better with your B3030....... so far mine has been doing well.

Ok, now that I have the leak fixed. I thought it would be an easy process to go to the manual and determine how much hydrolic fluid I need and where to put it.

Embarrassed to ask, but can anyone tell me how much hydrolic fluid and where it goes.

Then is the fluid something you think I might be able to get at a Lowes or Walmart?

If nothing else, I've been to tractor school these last 2 days.

You'll find the fill plug on the center of the rear end housing at the back of the tractor........ above your rear PTO. Just to the left of the fill plug is the dipstick to check the fluid level. Both the fill plug and dipstick are yellow, you can't miss them. You'll likely need a long-ish funnel to get oil into the fill hole though. I'd recommend going to your nearest Kubota dealer and buying their (expensive) SUDT. Its what is recommended for cold weather use. If you are only concerned with standard hydraulic oil ..... you'll have to find out what Kubota specs, then find something locally that meets Kubota's specs. If it were me, I'd order a new clip to put on that line when I was at the dealer. Cheap insurance.

Unless the 3030 is unique, it will be right behind you cab next to the dip stick.

I hate to comment on fluids as I always seem to get in trouble, but I use whatever brand meets the specs, brand specific is expensive.
