Seeking comments on the 50 hour service. Plan to change out the engine oil and filter as specified.

The dealer did not have a manual for the B3200 - have been reading that factory now recommends just changing the filters on the hydro trans. Have also been reading about the messy oil condition as well.

Bought a $7 plastic 10 quart drain pan. Plan to catch the hydo oil in the new unused drain pan. Change the filters hopefully with not so much mess, then re-install the hydro oil. Have a gallon of UDT to top off as necessary.

What oil goes in the front axle?

Thanks!

I did my 50 hour on my B2320 and put a thread with show and tell here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../218748-kubota-b-series-service-yourself.html

Perhaps something will be of interest. As for the front axle, the manual (something worth reading) states either UDT, SUDT or gear lube. I'm a fan of gear lube, so that is what I used. Picked up synthetic for the same price as dino. 75w-90.

The new catch pan worked great. I found a drain plug for the trans at the mid pto. Removed it and caught 10 qts of hydro oil. Very little mess. Replaced the drain plug. The only oil that dribbled when I removed the filters was what was in the filter. A little careful handling and no mess. Spun the new filters on and poured the hydro oil back in. Topped off with about half of a gallon of new. Stated the engine - no leaks.

Changed the engine oil out no troubles. The B3200 is way easier to work on than the 7510. More ground clearance. The B3200 does have 2 drain plugs. One on either side of the drive shaft.

Filters and oil was $75 at the local Kubota dealer. I will top off the front axle in the AM and grease up the FEL.

So, your saying that your GLAD you didn't pay a dealer a couple of hundred dollars more for doing this job for you that you in fact may have even done a better job?....................:laughing::laughing:

The 50 hour service on my 7510 done at the dealer 5 years ago was around $365 plus the 80 mile haul. I was working full time at that time. I'm now semi-retired so saving the bucks was important. :)
