B3200 v L3400

either way make sure you have the tires filled, my property is sloped in almost evey area and i have yet to do this but am getting it done in the next couple weeks and i know it will make a world of difference when it comes to fel work and traction.

as far as size, i looked at all of them 3 years ago BX, B, L and i ended up going with the L simply for the larger frame and clearance since i had alot of "logging" and clearing to do. once all my major clearing projects are completed, i may look at downsizing to a B (with added bonus of having a mid-mount PTO) for general maintenance work around here..

good luck and make sure you post some pics!!

Agree with above. Just had the tires filled on my 3400 and it rides completely different now. I have some very steep hills that were not an option before, but with the tires filled, the tractor is MUCH MORE stable. I also had the jerky 3 point- dealer replaced the valve or something. It is close to if not normal now. The 3400 is not the most maneuverable in tight spots if that is a concern (I took out a gutter and a chunk of a wood pillar last weekend- oh well). Overall this is a fantastic tractor.

Not sure they sent them out to a local tire shop to do it. That number sounds about right but I am guessing. I filled with CaCl2.

I have the L3400 DT and R1's with CaCl in the rears and I find that the tractor feels much more stable then the L245 DT that I had before the L3400 which didn't have the rears filled. With my R1's I have to stay off of my lawn unless its really dry or I'll put dents in the lawn. And if I have my backhoe on it will put dents in the lawn even if its dry but when doing field work, the extra weight in the rears is great for traction and stability.

Looks like we share same sentiments toward the L. I started with a BX2200 (1 year) then traded it for a B7800 (3 years) then trade it to a L3240HST (1 year) then traded it to a B3200 last month. I also have hillside and never felt comfortable with the L. Great on flat land but not sure about on hillside property. Have done major jobs with the B's. I personally don't believe any one tractor is great for all jobs so I believe buyers should look at their major ongoing needs and get a tractor for that and hire out the 4% of the time jobs. Contrary to what alot of people on this board say bigger is not always better in my opinion which I've paid the price to have after 8 Kubota purchases in 5 years. Still have 3 of them.
Bigger is always better is really dumb thinking.

I have an L3400 and it fits my needs. I don't do any finish mowing with it, as my grass yard area is small enough to use a rotary mower. I'm not into big lawns. I use it for maintaining the pastures, greenbelt/forest areas, fencing, grading, and special projects etc...

In my case, there was no need for me to go smaller or larger. I really enjoy the power and stability that I have. It just depends on your needs.

... I'm not going to the grand L size- just too big- I still need it to fit in my garage :) ...
IMO, not fitting in your garage is not a good reason. Get what you need to do the jobs. Then tell your wife, I need a new shop for my tractor!;)

I went to a dealer that had both the B3200 and L3400 side by side. Both gorgeous tractors. I noted that the 3 point hitch on the L3400 is significantly beefier than on the B3200. I am in a similar situation where I'm trying to figure out what model I want to get. I think for me the B3200 would be perfect, but it seems if I wanted to buy used, since that's a new model, I may not come across one any time soon at a decent price, whereas there seems to be a lot of 3400s around.

If you want used in that size range, look for a B7800 as well. The B3200 is the model that replaced it. Iv read it here that the 7800 was the most popular model Kubota ever built.

What are the major improvements between the 7800 and the B3200? I take it they at least fixed the headlights?
