Well, things didn't go that well today. The dealer that gave me good numbers on the B3300 didn't do what I expected on the L3400. I thought eliminating the hyd front blade and go with a manual rear blade would help offset the additional cost of the bigger tractor. You see the hyd front blade on the B3300 is an expensive proposition. ( $2600 ) While the rear blade is maybe $500.
I didn't question the pricing, but I may tomorrow. I did start working with another dealer but his price was even higher. He did offer me the choice of the L3700 for the same price.
I do have to remember that I bumped the mower from 72" to 84", so that cost a little.
Without going into all the details, the L3400 or L3700 will cost me another $4000 over the B3300. That probably is not that bad because it is alot more tractor. However, I am also giving up a 72" front hyd blade. I really like working snow in front of me. I just know that rear blade will be a pain in the rear. ( no pun intended )
Maybe I was wrong but I expected only a $3000 increase. Maybe tomorrow things will become clearer.

It doesn't look like you live to far from Barlows you should send Brady an email. He will let you know if your dealer is giving you a good price or not. I know with trade and new price Brady beat my local guy by 4K. Posting some of your quotes might tell you if your dealer is giving you a fair shake.

Brady also has lots of used tractors to look at

Well, the answer to my original title (B3300 or L3400) is neither. My dealer came thru today with very good numbers on a new L3700. They actually beat the number I was looking for and I can't remember the last time that happened.
I added a BH76 backoe and an 84" Befco rfm. They just got it in yesterday. It will be delivered in two or three days. Thank you guys for being my sounding board and for all the good advice.I am very pleased with how this worked out.
My dealer worked very fairly with me and gave me an excellent trade allowance for my B2920. The L3700 ended up being $800 less then the L3400.
I was not as happy with another local dealer who tried to get the same price for the L3700 as the L3400. In addition after an insulting trade in offer he made it worse by saying he really didn't want my B2920 at all.
I am trying to decide if I should call the owner of this second dealer and tell him how things went with his sales manager. I am really surprised because I have heard alot of good things about this dealership. Things seemed to go down hill with this sales manager after I told him I was also talking with one other dealer.
I will try to post some pics when my new rig shows up.

Glad you were able to work a deal and get the figure you were looking for. The best way to deal with the other dealer is probably to leave it alone and let taking your business elsewhere speak.

Don't forget to post pics when it arrives. It's anticipation time ! :D

I am anxious to see the pics of your L3700. I have thought of trading up on my B7800 to an L3400 but the L3700 sounds interesting. Which loader comes on that?

If you were the owner, would you want to hear why a customer bought somewhere else? I would.

First the loader is a LA 463. I wasn't to concerned about the loader, I just know it is bigger then the one on my B2920 which was almost big enough.
I did call the other dealer and talked to the sales guy and not the owner. Anyway he was real decent. He seemed genuinely glad that I got the deal I was looking for and that I bought it from the dealer who was closest to me. He offered no excuses and thanked me for considering them and said that if I ever bought again to stop in. ( although that would seem to be a waste of my time )
It was probably the best conversation I had with him through this whole situation. I am not sure the owner would feel the same way. This guy did not even try to sell me a tractor. He just didn't seem interested in my trade ( B2920 )
I will say the dealer I bought from moves alot of used tractors and they serviced my tractor and was very familiar with it.
Did I mention I can't wait till the L3700 gets here!
