I have a late 70's Kubota B6000 (2wd)and I am having 2 problems with it.

1) After the tractor is running for say 5 min. the oil light comes on and stays on. I have changed the oil and cleaned the screen but it still does this.

2) The clutch will work fine for the first 5 min. and then it will not disengage all the way. I have greased the linkage and adjusted it but it doesn't help any. When I go to stop it just about disengages, but will continue to creep forward.

Any suggestions on these problems would be appreciated. I ordered a shop manual and should have it this week so hopefully I can track these problems down.

This may be a stretch, but since both problems seem to happen about the same time, at about 5 min. It is possible they may be related. Is it possible they are heat related? Since the B6000 has no temperature gauge, you may not know if you are overheating. Does the engine seem to be exceptionally hot? Does the coolant system seem to be in good shape? This engine has no water pump, it relies on the radiator and convection currents to do all the work.

It maybe you have a bad bearing causing over heating and the lose of oil pressure. But I would try to rule out cooling problems first.

I wondered about that myself. Is it possible that if the engine overheats, the clutch will not work properly? The radiator on my tractor has a slightly damaged filler neck that prevents you from tightening the cap completely, but it seems to hold coolant fine.

Possibly... If the clutch is not properly adjusted the extra heat ***may*** cause the fly wheel, pressure plate and or clutch plate to expand just enough to cause this. If I where you I would try to determine the coolant temp when this happens. These may be two unrelated problems, just seems odd they happen at about the same time.

If your cap is not sealing and the cooling system were filled to capacity, I would think it would be belching out coolant as soon as it gets up to operating temp. I know mine would. Are you sure there is not a BIG air pocket or a blockage in the coolant system? Have you flushed the system recently?

how high is the water in the radiator?
what mix coolant to antifreeze are you running?
does anything come out the little tube that runs down the little tube on the right of the radiator?
is it possible that you revv up or something else when the clutch doesnt disengage all the way, basically could it be anything else?
have you tried adjusting the clutch stop so you can press it further, see if this helps?
