I have a B7100 (not sure what year) that has about 1600 hours on it. The other day when mowing the mower deck started to give some strange noises. I found that the area around the gearbox on the mower had cracked all the way around. The crack was right along the edge of the under shell part. Called a couple of area Kubota dealers to see if a replacement shell was available, they are at about $1300.00 + freight & tax. Instead of ordering a new shell right now I decided to do some repairs and investigate any alternatives.
Does anyone other than Kubota make a deck that will work with the Kubota? or do I just need to replace with a Kubota deck?
Any other good options?
For now I just welded the broken piece back in but the mating of the gear box to shell to the parts under the shell are not within spec.
