I own a B7200HST which has served me faithfully for about 16 years. I just recently found this discussion group and find it very interesting and informative. I have two questions: Why is there not much or any discussion of my model? Was it produced for only a short time? Also, can anyone tell me if there is either an OEM or aftermarket temperature gauge that can be installed on this unit. I always felt a little uncomfortable not knowing this information.

According to http://www.tractortips.com the B7200HSD was made from 1983-1990. And while quite a number of the members on here have older tractors, I'm afraid most have newer models, and I have no idea how many of the B7200s were made. I'd just be guessing, but apparently it was very much like the B7100 that was made in later years, and I never much liked the idea of not having a temperature gauge on my B7100. But I never added one.

B7200 was the predecessor to the B1550, predecessor to the B1700, which was sort of merged into the B7400/B7500 of today. More features than the B7100.

I added a temperature guage to my older B7100. Here's how I did it:

(1) I bought a manual temperature guage package from NAPA.

(2) I took my radiator to the local radiator shop for routing cleaning and inspections. I had them solder a fitting in the top of the radiator for the temperature probe fitting that I bought from NAPA. I had them place the fitting close to where the top radiator hose connects to the radiator, since this should be the "hottest" spot.

(3) Since my older B7100 had a round plastic plug where the optional hour meter would have gone, I removed the plug mounted the round temperature guage there. The mounting of the temperature guage could possibly be the biggest obstacle for you.

Hope this helps. There may be other ways, but this is how I did it.

seritec44 , I've noticed the same thing, maybe B8200 was more HP for the $$ (like B2100 vs B1700?), so there are more 8200's out there? I've also noticed a lot of nice 3pt attachments out there that require a bit more PTO HP or lift capability than the 7200, seems like 8200 owners have more options.

But, there are lots of good posts on this forum that can apply just as well to the 7200.
