b7800 idle speed

ever since I changed the air filter my idle speed has gone up. before it would idle just below 1000 rpm and now it idles just above 1000 rpm.

the service manual makes no mention of idle speed adjustments just timing adjustments.

is this normal?

For reference, my B3030 idles right on the 1000RPM mark. I've certainly never felt the need to adjust it in any way. I'd say its possible for an air filter to be so clogged it might lower idle speed slightly, but I'd say you'd have noticed a problem at higher RPM long before it would effect idle speed.

Thanks for the reference point I was at the dealer last weekend and a brand new l3240 idles at 850 rpm so I was thinking maybe mine was too high but it sounds about right.
