B7800 starter problems?

does anyone know where i could find info and possibly schematics of starter system(including kill switches). 7800 won't start. tried jumping solenoid contacts, did get it started once by pulling it a few feet and then tried it and it fired right up. but that was the only time. cleaned all the contacts that i could think of(and find).
i guess maybe the starter brushes are stuck?? or kill switch is messed up. when you turn the key you can hear a click in vicinty of starter and also hear one when seat kill switch is pushed or let up.
i haven't done this before so that is why i'd like to get some information to look at or read before i start taking things apart. (did a search here and on google but couldn't find anything)

You cannot start a hydro by towing, sorry. To try will take out the hydro as the oil doesn't pump backwards. Contact the dealer as it is under warrantee, or was until you towed it, for both problems you now have.

Before trouble shooting the starter system, you should look at some other possiblities. We have all forgotten to do one of the following at one time or another:

1) Make sure that you have clutch pushed in.

2) Make sure that kill switch on dash is pushed in.

3) Make sure that you are in neutral.

Have you double checked to make sure the pto is not on ?

In addition to what the others have suggested, do you have lights when you turn on the key? If not, it may be the fuseable link located above the starter. You should have gotten an extra when you bought the tractor. Hope this helps.
