Yes. The 2910 has the premium features that I found a necessity. Most important of them is Position Control of the 3PH. Next one would be the lower link adjustments. That make it much easier to hook up 3PH attachments. All 2910's had a mid PTO. But not all B7800's have it.

The B7800, B2630, and B3030 are all the same chasis size, and have very similar running gear. Some things like steering are different between the B7800 , and the others mentioned. The B7800 is the same tractor as the B2910 minus the deluxe items.... 3pt hitch, position control, better seat, etc. The running gear is the same in both.
thanks Chuck! i have eyes on a few 2910's in my area. i was initially looking only at the 7800. can you elaborate a bit on steering differences between these units. also, i see Kubota specs Hyd outputs independently between steering/remote. can it be assumed if unit is motionless the dual output pump will deliver combined output to remote(s) or is there some sort of valving system inhibiting this combination?

B2910 came out in 2000, B7800 in 2002 and B3030 came out in 2005.
The two output pumps are 2 pumps stacked on each other. They do not combine when not using power steering.
Big difference between B2910 model and B3030 tractors is hydraulic PTO engagement. B3030 is a little higher off ground to allow for the 403 FEL to work.

The steering on both the B2910, and B7800 is "power steering" while the steering on the B3030 is "Hydrostatic" meaning that there are actual hydraulic cylinders going to the wheels that do the turning. Both work just fine, and both have a light feel even with a full loader bucket. I actually think the older style on the B2910/B7800 is a little better in the woods, and brush cutting, etc. because there are no rubber boots to get torn, and no small diameter piston rods to bend. Others may have different views, and I am certainly no expert on this subject.
i am certainly getting an education! thanks to you both for the great info. i may have gotten around to learning of these differences myself but i need a machine fairly soon and that leaves me with little time. BB's such as TBN are oh so valuable.thanks
