I think you are talking about the switch that will kill the engine if you get off the seat while the PTO is engaged.

Kills the engine.

Yes on the step. There is an old thread here somewhere with pics and all of a custom made step.

The new B3300SU comes with a step, and I'm guessing the platform isn't much different than your B7800. It sure would be worth checking with your dealer to see if it will fit. I'm thinking of having my dealer modify one to fit my B2620. I have a tumor on my hip now, and that step up is getting higher all the time.
