Kubota B8200HST-D
I am a new owner, and will need to use this tractor for stationary PTO duty, 24/7, driving a gearhead water well. I'll use the 748 rpm speed range. The gearhead will take about 640rpm at 8 hp, so I am hoping this tractor will hold up for hundreds of hours.

I do not yet have an owner's manual, but did find the B9200HST-D owner's manual. In the manual, it describes a "whistle" warning that goes off when the coolant temperature is over 212 degrees F.

Does anyone know if the 8200HST-D has the whistle warning? If so, I am wondering about installing a 12 volt relay on that circuit, and powering up a solenoid kill switch.

It seems very strange to me that the temperature info is so poorly communicated to the operater. I think I'll install some kind of aftermarket gauge to see how it's doing.

Simple solution... Use a temperature sender & a Murphy gauge. couple it to the fuel shutoff. KennyV
BTW... you can also use a Murphy gauge on the oil pressure system, it will monitor the oil pressure and shut down in case of low pressure.

The whistle is on the overflow tube. Steam whistle.

So it is just a mechanical noise, no electric circuit?

Any off-the-shelf packages that you can recommend?

Thanks

They are very simple systems, I have made several... Less than $100 in parts... You can even modify non murphy gauges into murphy gauges... The indicator needle on the gauge supplies the ground for the coil on the shutdown relay...
Here is a wired up system ready to hook up: Murphy-Murphy Swichgage Shutdown Panel without SV Fuel Valve - WD300LV-WD300LV
You can find them at Most any place that installs remote generator or pumping equipment. Any thing that is engine driven and has no operator present to monitor gauges.
Myself I would just fab a set up, there is not very much to make it up. KennyV

I think the B8200 has a pull switch to kill the engine...so I am guessing I need a fuel cutoff valve like this one on ebay 380877212054

And, a temperature switch gauge like this one on ebay 171213514068 cuts the ground to a simple relay, cutting the power to the fuel valve?

Or, is there a simpler, less expensive way to do it?

Yep, B8200's have a simple mechanical pull off switch to kill the engine. Seems like any 12V solenoid switch would work- not necessarily one that costs $110 or so. It is just gravity flow you have to deal with. Good luck. Those tractors have a solid, well made engine, so you should be fine. Maybe add some extra oil capacity?

No that is Not how I would cut fuel... first it is a 24 volt valve, and you don't need a valve, use the one you have, follow the pull cable to the rack on the injector pump. You can mount a simple pull solenoid (around $25) that will do the same thing as the pull cable mount it at the injector pump where it Only pulls the fuel shut off (Not the cable).
Also shop around online you can find Murphy gauges for a Lot less... I would use Both a temp & a low oil pressure murphy gauge... run the solenoid current through a relay to keep from destroying the gauges and place a momentary pushbutton switch in your circuit to allow disabling the system during start up.
