Here's the trench after stumps are buried. See the vein of shale that we dug out in previous pic...

Re: Baby Blue\'s helpers

Here's the driveway that we finished up today. BabyBlue is ready to keep it in shape. It really turned out great/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
The entire property looks like a different place compared to 10 days ago.
The builder starts Tuesday on the basement & pole barn.

Looks like a nice site for your house, shade. Maybe on my travels thru Cambridge, I'll stop
by. Are you very far off of I 70?

Come on by. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
The new home sight is about 5 miles off I70 (Rt 209 exit(#178)). Maybe we can hook up there when you're coming through. Contact me sometime...

Construction update: more materials & tools were delivered today. They want to dig post holes for the barn tomorrow & hopefully dig the basement Wed. or Thur.
I'm meeting the electric co. this afternoon regarding burying the electric service. I'll get to write them a check then too. Paid the water company for tap this past Friday.

Re: Baby Blue\'s helpers

Shade,
If you have access to a 'hoe, you might want to do the excavating for the electric your self. Save ya a bunch of money.

Building the Shade house

We're digging one trench (365' long) with the 42" hoe bucket & putting the primary electric line at 4' deep in one corner & the water line at 3' deep on the other side of the trench. I just finished getting it all staked out with the electric co-op. All I have to do is fill out the application & give them a check of course /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif & then I can schedule them out to place the electric line & run it to their ground transformer. From there, the General Contractor will be able to hook up a temporary service so he has power to build.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Then I can have the water hooked up anytime.
As things progress, I hope to post the building process. Right now the weather DOES NOT look good /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
