The tornado happened just after the storm passed by us. The Super Cell tha became the tornado formed just West of us and came straight over us with the strongest winds that I can remember. Weather guys on the TV are saying between 50 and 70 mph gusts. I lost a few trees, but nothing severe. Friends a few miles East of us lost a huge oak tree in their yard. Easily 4 feet thick at the truck, and it just snaped off about 4 feet up, but their house was fine. I'm also seeing lots of pictures on Facebook of other people that had trees fall over, and one guy lost his life from a tree falling on him while he was in his car in his driveway.

Couple pictures that I took of the storm.

From what I've been told by a vet, I should expect Oscar to live as long as a healthy pet dog. He will be ten years old in August, so anything after that is going to be a bonus. Last year he started losing weight. We've been feeding him what we feed the horses and goats, for years and he seemed to do well on it, but with the loss of weight, we decided to go back to dry dog food. That's what I fed him for years before we got the horses and goats. He is fed a scoop in the morning and in the evening, plus an apple, leftovers and some corn, and he's looking great. With the cooler temps, his activity level is much higher and I've even seen him running from out in the pasture, back to his house.

Oscar is cool, he looks like he is a Kune Kune? This is Bitsy, she is half Kune Kune. Sammie is Asian Potbelly, when she side eyes me, I tell her not to look at me with her slant eyes:D

Oscar was found outside my house as a baby and seperated from his mom somehow. I have wild hogs on my land, so there is no way to know what breed he is.

I never let him into my house, he was always half wild and prone to taking off and destroying everying in his way. I let him roam free outside the house for a few years, but he is so destructive that I had to fence him in. He has 11 acres with a 3/4 acre pond, and his own house, so he's not hurting.

Since having him, people have offered me their pot belly pigs, but I always refuse. Once Oscar passes, I will never have another pig. They are fun in some ways, but too destructive in my opinion. We had a storm over the weekend with 3 5/8's inches of rain which raised the water level on my small pond several feet, which made it impossible for my goats and horses to get to the hay ring without having to swim, so I open up two gates at the barn so they can get through to the other side of the pond that way. Oscar dug a massive hole in that area that took me an hour to fill up this morning. I love him, but he does test me. :)

What a cool story, he could not have found a better place to get lost/found. I am a huge pig fan. I have had potbellies for 29 years.

Eddie,
Storm clouds like this, in your photo, have my relatives in the Panhandle running for the storm celler. I have seen them numerous time and have been in a hail/electrical storm, up there, that lifted the side of our 1966 Mercury Parklane off the road. '66 Parklanes where big and heavy, floating gas hogs back then. Your photo made the hairs on back of my neck stand up.

I am glad to hear Oscar is feeling frisky.
hugs, Brandi

our 1966 Mercury Parklane

I can't believe you have a 66 Parklane!!! I was born in Sep of 65 and that same month my dad bought a 66 convertable Mercury Parklane. It was white with blue interior and roof, 2 door with the big block engine. I think it was a 410. That was what I drove in High School, and when I left for the Marines, my brother drove it, and wrecked it. For years it sat in the driveway all tore up and finally they scrapped it. It's the only old car that I've ever thought about trying to find one day and restoring.

Do you have any pictures of it?

reverse angled rear window, or fastback rear window?

I think this thread was one of the first threads I posted in when I joined years ago.

Having said that, I haven't kept up:

Oscar is a male I take it?

Did you have him fixed? If so how?

Has he ever shown any aggressiveness at all? I would be a +500 lb pig could pose some problems if he decided to stir up some trouble!

Convertible top with a clear plastic rear window. There was a zipper around it that you had to do first. Then it went into the bottom of the space that the top folded into when lowered. When the top was up, me or one of my brothers would sleep in there on long trips when we where really young.
