Eddie,
Oscar looks like a hoot & a half. At first I thought he was a pot bellied pig, but now see he isn't.

Dave,

I made the mistake of changing the oil on my truck and not putting the bucket of old oil in an "Oscar safe location!!!" I bet I'm the only person who didn't know that pigs love to roll around in used motor oil.

He's actually quite a bit cleaner in these pics then he has been. You really don't want to see what he's doing to the sides of my house and front door where he likes to rub himself.

:laughing:Did you give him a bath? I have no idea what they do now, but when I was a kid in the 4-H club showing hogs in the fair and fat stock show, those who had black or red hogs applied hair oil before going in the show ring while those who had white hogs applied talcum powder. And the kids with Hampshires really had a job since they applied the hair oil to the black, then talcum powder to the white band across the shoulders, and you didn't want to mix the oil & powder. But I didn't know hogs would like to wallow in used oil.

Eddie,
Make that two hoots.:D Cows have been known to lick all the grease off of tractors left in the pasture with them, but an oil bathing pig is new to me.:laughing::laughing:

Well, I never knew that either...

Although I did know that you are supposed to grease pigs, not oil them...

It never even crossed my mind to give Oscar a bath!!!!! That's just too funny.

He's been rolling around in the snow and mud, so the oil is pretty much gone now. I just need to be more careful in the future and not leave anything out.

When I left for work yesterday, he was playing with a 6x6 block of wood that I use for jacks and putting things on. He pushes it around with his nose, then spins around and pushes it in another direction. He's extremly quick, and also very clumsy. It's impressive to see his speed and strength, but funny to watch him fall down or trip over himself.

Eddie, no matter what they tell you, motor oil is NOT a good pork marinade.:p Give him some nice olive oil and pineapple juice so he can be really tasty.:licking::laughing:

Eddie,
Pigs waller in the mud to stay cool. When it gets warmer, hit him with the water hose. I am sure he will love that also.;)
