Back hoe attachment

I got a deal on a new Jinma Hoe and modified the subframe to fit my 3510. It cost me under $100. to plumb the hyd lines and I added another relief valve to the lines. I keep them plugged into each other when the hoe is off the tractor.

the advantages to the 3 point hoe are price and convenience. Having to remove the arms is a hassle.
OTOH, a backhoe can develop a LOT of sideways stress and can bend your 3 pt arms or crack the case over time if you're a heavy user.

a third option you might want to look into would be a 3rd party hoe with subframe, like Woods.

Yeah, I heard that the 3 pt hoe can crack the top of the transmission assembly. If my sub frame type does any damage it would be to the lower receivers which is not part of the trans axle.

Even thought I feel sometimes as if I speak to the internet gods only....
I did go check out the LiTW hoes today. Very impressed. The guy who sale's them was SUPER friendly. Not friendly as car salesman friendly but honest to goodness sounds like a good guy. My 3 yr old peed on herself, in his drive, cause it was a 2.5 hr ride there, and his wife took mine in the house and my daughter came out with new clothes on.... Those folks are hard to find most of the time. Heck I even rode the mans NEW 09 HD Ultra Classic. We were talking motorcycles and he showed me his, which he is VERY proud of. I told him I had a HD too and he said here, take her down the road. I thought that was amazing. I promised to ride back out and let him ride my bike sometime.

My dealer as previously stated has the 8600 only in stock, he wants 7K. He is asking 700 for a single spool remote, 200 install fee. I feel this is excessive. This guy has already made enough money on the purchase of my tractor to eat some on a dang hydraulic valve IMO! Needless to say that has me turned off of buying a hoe from him. Also on the Branson site it says th 8600 will not work with the 3510. When I questioned the dealer, "aww that tractor will handle anything you throw at it. I'd put that hoe on it tomorrow, no problem".
As for the LiTW's I can get a 7600 for 4500
or the 8600 for 5500. I can either have the dealer plumb my tractor (me haul it 125 miles to him, possibly taking all day) with QC's to the rear or buy the pump for 700. If I do either he will throw in the thumb. I think all I need to do is figure out which LiTW I want!!!!!
IF there is anyone on tonight, what are your opinions?

A couple of things about the 8620 hoe.

1. I think your dealer is out of line with the price. I think a price of seven grand ought to be turn key (he does the remote for nothing). I paid about $6,500 (if I remember correctly) and that was everything.

2. I had the same concern about the 8620 hoe and the 3510 tractor. Dealer contacted field service tech for Branson and he said there was not a poblem putting that hoe on the 3510. I have not had any problems to date, with limited use. In a few months I will know alot more.

I really did not want to post an answer to your question about whether to get a three point mount. There have been alot of threads on TBN about the benefits and possible problems associated with the three point mount. If you want my opinion, I would say go with a subframe mount. I don't feel at all qualified to give that opinion, but you asked for it so there it is.

The right answer for you depends alot on how extensively you plan on using the hoe, if you are only using it a couple times a year the light weight hoe may be the way to go. If you are going to some serious digging day in and day out, you may want to spend some extra money. Do a search here on TBN and find the three point hoe threads, read them and make your choice. I would not pay your dealer what he is asking.

We have sold 4 bell housings in the last 5 years to guys with 3 point backhoes

I would find another Branson dealer that has better prices to match your wallet !:D

I wish you were closer, we could make you a smokin deal !

Taking the arms off are an effort I would rather not do, and I am going to get a pinned bolt rather than the threaded bolt, since using of the wrench is the hardest part. With that said, I don't hesitate removing one of my 3pt implements to use my hoe for a few hours, its really that easy. The nice thing about the sub frame is that I can use my hoe to install it if my tractor is not perfectly lined up, and it does not put any stress on my trans-axle if I go over rough terrain to fast and cause the tractor to bounce. I do not need an extra pump, its all self contained, and in my opinion is worth every penny I paid. Either way you need to make a decision that you are happy with. Good luck.

Thanks folks. This is what I figured what I would hear. Yes, I do believe my dealer is out of wack with price. That is why I started looking at the 3 pt hoes.
Actually I bought the LiTW 7601 curved boom hoe yesterday. I got to play with it tonight after work and BOY I am impressed. Yes I realize already that I will have to fab up a subframe if I use the hoe hard; the hoe is powerful enough to cause trouble if I am not paying attention. If I decide to use this thing very often I'll have to fire up the ole cracker box.
I figure that if it is going to break something it will happen this week while I put the hoe to the test! The LiTW dealer deals with compact tractors and he swears if hooked up tight and used properly (no sideways pulling) I should have no problems. I feel that to be right. I think if I pay attention to what I am doing the three pt hoe will work better for my situation.
Thanks for your opinions. I do value them.

Congratulations! I think the key will be to keep it as tight as possible to prevent excess movement. I think the only trouble would be the bouncing up and down either on the road or rough terrain, since the side to side motion (none if kept tight) would be the same or less shock/stress than a rototiller, box scrape, etc. Good luck and send us keyboard operators some photos, will ya?

Congrats on the purchase! I'm sure you'll find it useful. I'll have to search out that particular model and check out the specs. I'll second the comment on the photos, you know how we all like pics:D

Keep on Diggin
