Has anyone out there run a backhoe on a TN series, I am looking at buying a back hoe for mine. I am thinking about the bush hog 965 which looks very heavy duty and appears to be the most reasonable in price. I do not think I would want to go much bigger (or smaller). The 965 weighs over 1600lbs without a bucket attached. I would love any feed back on this model of bush hog.

Hold the phone.

Don't do nutt'n till you talk to Brad Maas ("moss") at James River Eq in Ashland, VA (804-798-6001), a big tractor/construction eq dealer in our area. He has transferred (is now a regional mgr, super helpful & a truly nice guy) from there but at his former store in Chester (804-748-9324), he had a Bradco 911, painted green but otherwise "useable" with a subframe for a 5000 series JD. It has sat on his lot for YEARS and he really wants to move it! I can send you pictures that I took while trying to work out using it on my TN90F, a long story without a satisfactory outcome....

It WILL fit your tractor with the right subframe. Not sure if the JD can be adapted, but Brad will make sure his folks try (they did for me), or he can order the right one.

Let me know if you are interested and I will put you in touch with Brad. Pictures, do I have pictures! I have seen the 911 on the TN series NH tractors (have some pics of one being installed), it seems well matched.

Mark Chalkley (the earthforce guy) bought his Bradco hoe for his Kubota from Brad.

Thanks for that information Jim, I did not think anyone used subframes with the TN series, no one that I have heard of makes one although I do not pretend to know all. Anyway, I would be interest in a used hoe as long as the condition was excellent, especially the cylinders (ie:no rod rust). Let me know what I need to do to get photos, I live in Western New York, so VA is not too far. How big is a 911 Bradco?, I have a flyer on the 611 and it is a pretty big unit. FYI:I am pretty much computer illiterate.

Edward, I must have 911 on the brain. With one in the garage and the other indelibly burned into my memory, not to mention the phone #....

Yes, it is a 611. Send me your e mail address, tell me how big each attachment can be. My connection is slow so if you can handle several pictures in one e mail, I'll send all at once and do something else for a while.

Hotmail will probably choke on several attachments.

I last saw the unit in December. IIRC, there was some rust on the cylinder arms, but it is a new un-used unit, so the warranty would still apply and/or JRE would back it for you (they are ultra reputable and BIG--Roy Romer and his son Mark own the group--frmr CO gov). This is not a "list price" deal, so I would imagine Brad would bargain big time with you!! And he would probably put it into first class cosmetic shape before delivering it if you and he agreed on that. Might paint it blue, painful for a JD dealer!

My recollection is that they ordered it in for someone who then did not take it. Thus the subframe, etc.

Even with the TN65 (and I did a video for NH on TN's), I would use a subframe, unless the local rep for NH gives you an otherwise green light. Woods is the only big backhoe maker that even hints at not using a subframe with the big add-on hoes, and Woods is no Bradco. My reading of the series on TN's that you contributed to last year showed some folks claiming that subframes aren't needed with TN's. I believe both NH and Bradco would differ with Mr Forrester (your dealer, right?) on that. We met him when searching for my TNF (my VA dealer sent me to see him as Mr F owned one himself). Nice and BIG guy, and sorry to tell you, I heard he died not very long ago.

I also recall a thread here some time back on subframes that you might read. Better be safe rather than sorry. I can also give you some private contacts I have at NH to talk to. Former Bradco rep is a friend, also (he is now Alo/Quicke rep).

Use this for my e mail address: tnf@ordinary.com

I wouldn't put a hoe on any tractor without a subframe just to help reduce the stress. Where abouts WNY are you?

Robert, I live in West Valley, I pass your place a couple of times a month when I drive up 20 between Silver Creek and Dunk/Fred. I'm not a deer farmer by trade like you, but I'm an avid bow hunter. I put in a few white tail feed plots every year.

Jim- my email is erseeley@hotmail.com, as far as how big attachments can be I have no clue, my little email meter says I've only used up 10% of my inbox space- what ever that means. Thanks for offering to send me pics.

Jim, Forresters and a local New Holland dealer (Buffalo Tractor) both told me that a sub frame is not needed for the TN series, I even asked if mounting a 3pt hoe voids the warranty and they both said NO. I never met Mr. Forrester, he had already passed away when I purchased my TN, I have been dealing with his son Cory who has been one of the best people I have ever dealt with on anything, his level of service to Me (I'm a long distance customer for him +-5hours from his place) has been nothing short of exemplary. I tried to deal local but got no where, I think not being a farmer had something to do with it, Chuck Romance, my closest dealer wants nothing to do with me, although his son Justin seems nice enough. Anyway, Cory Forrester has alot of customers up my way, even though he five hours away, I know of 3 other people who deal with him from my area.

Most free services such as Hotmail allow each user 3mb of space for all folders. If your box is full or an attachment exceeds the limit, it is kicked back to the sender. Some, like AOL, limit the size of an attachment. Not sure about Hot Mail.

So if your service says 10% is in use, that means that you have data stored that equals 10% of your 3 mb allocation. That could be email in the in box, e mail in the trash folder that you haven't selected yet, e mail in the sent folder if you are having it save a copy of what you send out or it could be data in your calendar or to do list if you are using those functions.

Do you go to the fall sportsman show in Hamburg or the trappers convention in Little Valley as we set up at both of them with the deer farm and the NYS Big Buck Club. As for Romance's, if you find a good salesman there buy from him and he will take care of you. Romance's dealership next to me is that way, the one guy is an arrogant idiot to farmers as well as homeowners and I do not deal with him and neither do the farmers around here we all deal with Mike Wilson who will do whatever it takes to make you happy. I was trying to find a 10' disc and another farmer came in there who was going to give them two disc to sell and Mike told him to talk to me first as I was looking for one which didn't make the other guy happy as he likes to mark the prices up on everything and now they wouldn't make a dime on the deal. As for 3pt backhoes, the dealers say you don't need them but I would still consider having one put on only to reduce the stress on the tractor if you plan on keeping it for a while. Talk to you later.
