anyone using redmax ? I found a red max specs are 4.6 hp. 72cc .203mph @ 943cfms .Seems to be more cfms than shindaiwa eb8510rt which list 762 cfms . Not sure where either brand is rating the cfmS ( housing or tube)

The Shindaiwa is rated at 224mph wind velocity. It uses patented C4 technology which incorporates the best of 2 & 4 cycle motors into one package. Also on the RT (rapid throttle) models it "features a pistol-grip throttle handle – with cruise control, adjustable angle and hush-mode button – affixed to the air tube." This is the most advanced and powerful blower on the market today (well it will be early next year anyway /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

I'm in no hurry to purchase. I can wait until this mod. comes out . Just trying to get all the info. I can on all models as this alot of money to spend for a blower. Do you know the hp. or cc of the shindaiwa ? I clicked on the linc ,but it dosen't mention cc or hp.The red max may be rating cfm at housing don't know. thanks.

Hi Ken,
I have the Stihl BR 400 for the past few years and found it to be a very dependable unit, easy starting and using. Its a few years old now so Im not really up on the latest models, but it has been good to me!

It's a 4 cycle? The weight has got to be up there.

No, it is a 2 & 4-cycle hybrid that uses 2-cycle mix. The weight of the machine is a little under 25lbs. The motor actually has a timming chain on it and is rated to last like over 2000 hours. Shindaiwa is really cutting edge when it comes to hand held equipment. Stihl is going to all 4-cycle stuff which limits the revs and Echo is trying to stay with all 2-cycle stuff which will limit what they can have due to EPA. Shindaiwa's C-4 technology gives you the best of both worlds.

Check out this page for more information on C-4 technology.

I thought stihl called their stuff 4- mix . From what I understand, you still have to mix oil in the gas just like 2 cycle. Seems that its about the same as the shindaiwa c-4 as I see in the linc, that the shindaiwa also uses the 2 cycle mix set up.
