( New Holland has made harvest equipment forever. Then around 1986 Ford bought New Holland to form Ford-New Holland Tractor. Then around 1996 Ford decided they wanted out of the tractor business. (
Ford was big into tractor makiing long before 86. Ford had made good quality tractors since the beginning of the last century. When Ford purchased New Holland they formed a potent force in the ag market. THey had top quality harvest equipment on the New Holland side and top quality tractors on the Ford side. Ford had also purchased Versatile around the same time which was a pretty nifty tractor in its day. Ford is where the blue color comes from. Prior to the ford Purchase, New Hollands had always been Yellow and red like their Combines are currently.
I'm not sure where most of their tractoes are built anymore. I believe their boomer tractors are made in Dublin Georgia with an imprted motor from Japan.
