Background on NH Tractors

Ford was big into tractor makiing long before 86. Ford had made good quality tractors since the beginning of the last century. When Ford purchased New Holland they formed a potent force in the ag market. THey had top quality harvest equipment on the New Holland side and top quality tractors on the Ford side. Ford had also purchased Versatile around the same time which was a pretty nifty tractor in its day. Ford is where the blue color comes from. Prior to the ford Purchase, New Hollands had always been Yellow and red like their Combines are currently.

I'm not sure where most of their tractoes are built anymore. I believe their boomer tractors are made in Dublin Georgia with an imprted motor from Japan.

I didn't say that Ford wasn't in the tractor business before '86. He asked about the history of New Holland. In '86 is when Ford joined the New Holland picture.

I believe there is very little on the Boomer line of tractors that isn't made in Japan. I believe the loaders and MMM are US made though.
