I know this is an old thread, but I bought all the bushings I needed to rebush my backhoe from Tractor Supply. Maybe I was just lucky with the sizes.

Bushings are doing fine. Made what needed to be made from either 4140,or 4340,hardened steel. Not quite as hard as OEM pins/bushings. But the pre-hard steel was rc40-45 or so.

That's about all I remember as it was several years ago.

Do any of the part numbers match what your looking for..??  - Joseph Industries

These guys beat everyone hands down on parts prices for my old Case hoe. Won't cost any more than a phone call to check.

Related to this subject,,,,,,

I had to cut out a 1.1875" pin on my excavator because it was bent and could not be pressed out. I researched it a bit and someone wrote (on TBN forum) that the pin materials are typically a very soft steel to preserve the bushings. There was a name for it. "Old grind" knew some details, see post #14 on other thread.

Anyway, in cutting the pin out, I never cut steel so soft, the 18V battery sawzall flew thru it, chips flying like it was made of wood. I was all set up to buy hardened drill rod, good thing I checked with TBN first.

They all arent like that though. Not sure on modern equipment, but the two old ford hoes we have (my 5500 and dads 4500) have both hardened pins as well as bushings.

IIRC, the pins were around 58-59 Rc and the bushings 60-62Rc

Makes sense that if the bushings are replaceable the pin can and should be strong. On my KX41, at this pin, there are no 'bushings' in the boom end - I suppose the pin is sacrificial in this case.
