Backhoe Backhoe for TC30

   / Backhoe for TC30 #11
My Woods backhoe was not only suggested by my NH dealer but installed by them, they are also a woods dealer. I called my dealer today here in upstate NY and asked him the wareenty question. His answer was technically NO. Now that being said, as my dealer who installed it and if everything was installed correctly and the failure was due to non operator error he would make sure it would be made right. If the problem was due to somthing on woods end, woods would pick it up, I f it was determended it was a NH failure..like weak casting or bad frame, then NH would pick it up. If it was operator error like leaving out a mounting pin or somthing like that, I have insurence on my tractor and It would cost me a $200 deductible to fix the problem. So I believe the bottom line is the dealer you have and how they will handle it if somthing does go wrong. He said they use woods and bradco products and hardley ever run into any failures with the sub-frames.

Well said.

The take away is: when buying a backhoe - have the warranty conversation with your dealer.

The engineer in me thinks that any quality sub-frame hoe will work well with a New Holland tractor. CNH is simply covering themselves from a potential $ liability with their policy (whether we agree with it or not).

Woods has a new subframe design available for some NH models. I believe they call it a "4 point hitch". It makes backhoe attachment truly a quick-hitch operation. The design also does not cause you to lose much, if anything, in the way of ground clearance under the tractor, so you can just leave the subframe on all the time.

I know they are out for the class III Boomers. Don't know if they are out for the Class II's or the TC30 yet.

Might want to check on whether you're getting the new style or the old style.

Thanks for the info, I'll check that out with the dealer. I've had some things come up and haven't had the time to research this as much as I would have liked. I did get a price on a New Holland B.H. from a dealer in PA. Dad actually went and talked to them but forgot which model number it was. He did say the hoe would dig down 7 feet, possibly the 757c? Anyway, price was around $6,900 installed with subframe.

Based on the hoe specs, I'm kind of leaning towards the Woods. I don't have the spec sheets in front of me but I believe the Woods is slightly stronger and has a little more reach. Opinions??

Thanks,

Rodger

I suggest you do a search for a Taylorway Backhoe for your compact TC 30 tractor. I pass one for sale on my way to work daily at Lake Trees Farm in Bedford VA . 1-540-309-0511. As a former Ford tractor and equipment dealer I would recommend this unit. It's well built. I think it has a 12" bucket. It has it's own pto hydraulic pump and reservoir. It mounts to the lower lift arms and uses a rigid link in place of your top link. I saw 5 of these units on Ebay on sale at a dealership in Kentucky for around $4,000.00 each in December 09. The best price I could get out of my local dealer in Bedford VA was 4300.00. I would have bought it but my son who has a Ford 1310 4wd found a Ford 758 Backhoe which we purchased last thursday for $1500.00.

My son has a friend that has a Bushhog Brand 655? I think backhoe for sale that came off a New Holland TC 25 Tractor. He wants $3500.00 for it. It could probably be bought for 3000.00. It uses the tractors hydraulics so you will need to be able to hook into your hydraulic system for this one.

Let me know if you need more info. I can get you in touch with the seller.

As for our new purchase we haven't hooked it up yet. I want to get a PTO hydraulic pump and a separate hyd. tank to make it simpler to hook up and go digging with. Hope this helps.
