Until I take the BH off I'll see what I need. I'm thinking of building a Backhoe dolly. But not sure how to go about it. I'm told this thing weighs about 1300 lbs.

Wedge,
You mean the dolly or taking the BH off?

Like this works.... hoe sits down on it and can't slide off. Lay a couple two by fours down under your hoe, lift them up in place, and see what you can do... :)

The yellow added tubing down by the bucket it to add height to keep the knuckle of the bucket from hitting the ground. When you put the hoe back on you have to be able to move the bucket around/tilt the 4pt verticle to help line up the 4pt on the subframe to put the wedges in. Depending on how your hoe is constructed you might have to add something like this.....

I would have to have this welded up. What kind of casters are those? I'm guessing I need 300-400lb working load.
Thats what I was thinking of. Thought I had a pretty big barn, but running out of room already.

I went with all four swivels, 4"X2" steel, think they were 700 or 800 pounds each. Got them off Ebay, think I bought a couple sets at the same time for other projects. Made a dolly to put under my 8" wood chipper to be able to shove it around and pack stuff better in the winter for more barn room. I would not go ' cheap ' on either the steel or castors on something that weighs as much as this krap does... Don't want a blow out when you are trying to manuver around your barn. The hoe does not take a whole bunch to get moving... but does not stop on a dime. So you have to plan ahead. I think my 595 hoe is around 1500 pounds [+/-] ... Good luck, Jerry...

JerryK, very well done on the backhoe dolly. I'm impressed and we have a fab shop.

Finally got an answer as to how to leave the backhoe sub-frame on the tractor and still be able to bolt up the stabilizer mounts. The mounts go between the axle and the sub-frame.
