Man I would hate to walk a bit too close to those when in raised position. Those look downright dangerous to the operator. A rectangular box of plate rather than the triangle spears would have worked just as well and not ripped flesh from your body if accidentally contacting them.I also had a sliding around issue in digging out some stumps. My solution, which helped a lot but didn't completely eliminate the problem due to the weight of my tractor, was to make a steel wedge design. My stabilizers came with thick rubber pads, 2 per pad, for use on asphalt/concrete. Each rubber pad has 2 embedded studs for mounting. I simply used 1 inch x 2 inch steel stock in their place and welded on 4 wedges made from 5 inch wide, 1/2 inch thick stock.
