Im waiting on delivery of a LS XJ2025 with a backhoe, and want to order a mechanical thumb. What brand seems to be the easiest to install, best price etc?

I welded a Titan on my backhoe but if I had a new tractor I would look for one that uses the existing pins.

If I were adding a thumb, I would bite the bullet and go with a hydraulic thumb. They are much more versatile than a fixed unit.

I would too - go hydraulic I mean. But the reason a hydraulic thumb is important for my work is that I do a lot of landscaping work with rock, trees, and bushes. If I was only digging holes or drainage trenches and putting nothing special into them then there wouldn't be much use for the hydraulic thumb. But I'd still want a mechanical thumb for the sometime use. The shape geometry is sort of important. Get whatever thumb goes with that specific BH.

I looked into this recently. I think I'm going to hold out and fab up a hydro thumb...
I think you are going to have to go with a bolt on model if you don't want to do any kind of modifications. They seem rather chintzy to me because all the pressure is on the 4 bolts and seem like they would move around. A member of this forum put a BRO-TEk on his xj2025 lb1104 bh.
The NH boomer 24/25 is the same as the xj2025 but their BH came ready for thumb install. I think it might be a woods bh instead of the LS?

Thanks for the info I'm still not sure what I'm going with brand wise. I don't think I can swing the cost of a hydraulic one but I have not looked into how much they are either

Does your tractor have a rear remote? Does the Backhoe have a thumb mount? If so your additional cost to get a hydraulic thumb over mechanical would be a cylinder and hoses.

At this point the tractor does not have a remote I may have the dealer install one he quoted $400 to do so and I don't know if the Backhoe has a thumb mount or not
