I have a regular backhoe (Case Super E) but from what I have seen, the 3pt hoes are more for bigger tractors with heavy lift arms. The Kubota subframe system is very nice and does come off/ on in a few minutes.

I had an old Woods 3 pt mount backhoe on my L3010. It took FAR longer to remove it than the sub frame mounted BH92 on my MX5800. The pin alignment would shift on the bracing after each use and make installation / removal difficult. After several bent pins and twisted linkage, I discovered what others here have said. A 3 pt hoe is NOT for heavy duty work. My advice is get a subframe mounted hoe. The time factor doesn't exist.

I am looking into put a 3 pt hitch backhoe with pto hydraulic pump on a Kubota L2501 but my dealer said i need a subframe is there anyway around putting a subframe on cause once i am finished 1 part i want to hook up box scrape to level up the ground. What type of backhoe could i used so i don't tear up anything and still be able to unhook quickly and get back to scraping the ground thanks

My 9' Woods BH w/ subframe mount connects to the rear axle using a mounting piece that replaces the 3pt arms, changing from BH to 3pt requires putting the 3pt arms back in place. That IS the least of the worries when putting on or taking off the backhoe (or "doing the nasty", as I call it). Don't know about the newer ones - they seem to have been re-engineered to be much less of a nightmare to mount/dismount sometime over the past 20 years.

That being said, my backhoe can fling my L4200 around like so much tissue paper. I can't imagine that it would survive very long with a 3pt mount.

In case of doubt purchase a hoe a couple of sizes larger than what you think is required . The added power to dig through clay, pry out rocks and the ability to drag a stuck tractor clear of mud makes bigger better.

Take a smaller bite. Better to have more hoe than tractor and be able to drag the machine out of a being stuck.

That's bad information. The subframe type of BH is actually easier to hook up than the 3 point type.

Well, whomever you heard it from didn't know what they were talking about, 99.9% of sub frame backhoes can be removed in under 5 min., then all you have to do is put the 3pt arms on and go.

Wrong. First off when the tractor moves you've already done more work than the weaker hoe did. Backing off and you'll accomplish the same result. Next with improved method you can better harness the power. My backhoe will easily thrash the tractor around if I'm trying to dig on the far side of a hole by pushing down and pulling back. If I dig on the close side by lifting up I can easily make out the hydraulics before the tractor moves.

I've a Woods BH70X on a Kubota B7610 with a sub-frame kit. I'm tentatively going to put it on my M4700 using a Woods Saf-T-Lock kit and an enhanced top link.

It took hours of phone calls until I finally got through to someone at Woods that told me that I could get the Woods Saf-T-Lock kit and an enhanced top link designed for a Woods BH90 and it should fit and work well. Note that the Woods BH70-X is big for the B7610. I've grabbed tree limbs and lifted the tractor w/FEL attached.

Routinely I sling the B7610 around when I'm using the BH. I'm pretty sure w/o the frame I would have broken something.

As others have written the hook up/take apart is fairly quick.

Go with a subframe.

Sub frame on my 1640 for the 10A backhoe is under 15 minutes for install and 10 minutes to remove . That incluides removing the three point hitch arms and sway blocks.
