Backhoe Backhoe ?

How hard is it to assemble a Kubota backhoe and install it on a CUT (7610). I am trying to get the best price on a new 4672A and thought it may be worth installing myself but am not sure. Also what can I expect to pay installed for one?

The only install on the tractor would be a HD Top-Link Bracket. Plus tractor needs to be equipped with a Folding ROP's.
There is some subassembly of the BH but not major. Hydraulic tank will be empty. It requires 5 gallons of UDT. Include that in the price you pay for BH.
When my BH was delivered. Dealer had it mounted on another B2910. They just backed tractor off from the back of the trailer. Then disconnected from the tractor. They then installed on my tractor. Took about a 1/2 hour. It took a hour to install the first time I did it myself.
The BH weighs 851 lbs in crate. How will you unload when you get it home?

I’m not dead sure but I believe I read that Kubota dealers are not allowed to sell Kubota products unassembled in the crate. Given the liability issues of these days it would make sense.

BTW, to answer your original questions - it wasn't really that hard to do (took me about a day) once I figure out how to lift and support it. I managed to save some money by doing it myself (maybe $500 to $750 ?)

List price is $6700. I have had my 4690 for a few years now. Price was $5700 with tax. You can also look at a Woods BH600. Should be a little less than the 4672.
Latest price have been between $6000 and $7000.

Are both Hoes considered "subframe" mounted ? I noticed my Kubota dealer says it is a 4th point mount - is there a difference, or anyting I should be concerned with?
Any concerned with strenght? It just seems I could do so many little things with a hoe that it will be worth all the $$ over the long run.

I think I paid $6100 for our BL4690B with two buckets (10" & 16")

Kubota considers them subframe backhoes - they require a FEL to be installed for the tractor they are used on. The FEL includes a pair of rails (the "subframe") which ties the front and rear of the tractor together on the bottom and stiffens it.

As far as I know the 4672 and 4690 are three point mounts not four point. I think you have to go to a BH75 to get a four point mount. Dunno whether these are available for the older series B models or not.

There was a thread here within the last year showing photos of a NASTY fracture near an upper link that was not braced for a backhoe. Broke the tranny housing and you could see the innards. Very ugly.

If you havn't pulled the trigger on the BH yet you may want to look at the Woods BH6500.

I have the BH6500 with sub-frame on my B7610. Doesn't hook up to the 3ph at all. I have dug so hard with the hoe that I have had the front-end of the tractor bouncing up and down with no ill effects (yet).

This Woods hoe has taken a beating. If you go to the Woods website thet have a new curved boom - looks pretty slick. Not sure of the pricing. I paid $6k for hoe, subframe & install
